Marine Claims Executive
Job Description
 
Key Responsibilities:
Verify the validity of claims in accordance with P&I Rules and the member’s terms of entry. Manage and maintain files, reports, Claims Summary Documents, and Estimate Reviews (ESR) with precise, detailed, and timely information. Acknowledge and handle claims and inquiries efficiently, consulting with members as needed. Travel within Japan and internationally to build and strengthen relationships with members and brokers. Address and manage claims in a cost-effective manner. Collaborate closely with the Loss Prevention Department on claims, member reviews, vessel conditions, and crew performance. Engage the FD&D Department promptly in relevant cases. Alert the Underwriting Department to any detected unusual risks. Take ownership of and participate in additional P&I department projects, including Sector and Expertise Groups, training, team development, and member relations. Provide out-of-hours and weekend assistance as required. Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
Degree (preferably in Law) or equivalent qualification  Proficiency in Japanese (native or bilingual). Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in diverse cultural contexts, both verbally and in writing. Flexibility to accommodate client needs and support colleagues in various geographical sectors. Experience in shipping law or the maritime industry.
