Marine Electrician
**Job Title: Marine Electrician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Marine Electrician to perform electrical repairs and new construction aboard private vessels. This role involves preparing work areas, installing and welding equipment, laying out and repairing cables and conduits, and testing electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with Navy electrical and electronic systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and inspect electrical equipment. **Responsibilities** + Prepare work areas, drill holes, and grind metal surfaces. + Install welds and hook up equipment for all electrical services on the ship. + Lay out, pull, rip out, repair, and install cable and conduit. + Test electrical equipment. + Read composite blueprints, computer printouts, and Navy standards manual. + Remove scrap and perform general clean up. + Perform other related tasks as assigned, which may become essential to the position. **Essential Skills** + Knowledge of Navy AC (60 and 400 Hz) and DC electrical systems. + Familiarity with electrical systems such as switchboards, switchgear, distribution panels, and controls. + Versed in the use of common electrical measuring instruments and various electronic measuring devices, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, power analyzers, and megohmmeters. + Ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, clean, reassemble, and operationally test electrical equipment. + Experience with cable run fabrication and wire way fabrication. + Ability to use power and hand tools and read composite blueprints, computer printouts, and Navy standards manuals. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. • Medical, dental & vision • Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital • 401(k) Retirement Plan – Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available • Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents) • Short and long-term disability • Health Spending Account (HSA) • Transportation benefits • Employee Assistance Program • Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) **Workplace Type** This is a fully onsite position in San Diego,CA. **Application Deadline** This position is anticipated to close on Feb 10, 2025. **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
