Job Title: Marine Mechanic
Job Description

This Mechanical Technician performs skilled work in the maintenance and repair of marine engines, marine machinery, and related equipment.

ResponsibilitiesPerform major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on gasoline and marine engines, outboard motors, and related marine equipment and systems using schematic charts and technical manuals.Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program for marine engines and related equipment.Test marine engines and equipment to determine the need for repairs or adjustments.Repair and maintain hydraulic equipment and valves.Operate hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair.Assist in the fabrication of equipment.Write specifications for and recommend the purchase of marine equipment, parts, and supplies.Follow company, industry, and best practices regarding safety standards, including safe equipment usage, personal protective equipment, and reporting.Essential SkillsExperience in marine, hydraulics, diesel, and mechanical repair.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.Skilled in valve repair and troubleshooting electrical systems.Proficiency in using hand and power tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a shipyard environment.Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work requires exposure to changes in temperature and humidity and is performed outside in the elements, on and around water. Employees must use speech, vision, and hearing, and perform tasks that require simple grasping and fine manipulations with hands.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Benefits: The Company provides medical, vision, and dental insurance upon hire. After three months of employment, you will be eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) saving plan, which includes a 100% company match on the first 3% employee deferral and an additional 50% on the next 2% employee deferral up to 5%. So, if you defer 5%, the Company will match 4% towards saving for your retirement. A comprehensive summary of the benefits programs will be given to you during your orientation.

Time Off: Full-time employees are eligible to take 104 hours of Personal Time Off (“PTO”) for each full calendar year. PTO hours are prorated for partial years. You are eligible to take PTO after 90 days of employment. PTO does not carry over from year to year.

Holidays: Full-time employees receive the following paid holidays after completing 90 days of employment: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
