Role Purpose

Reporting to the General Manager. 

To effectively manage the Marine Terminal Operations with the primary objective of Safety, Cost Competitiveness and Operational Discipline. This is a strategic and leadership responsible for developing Operations into a capable and resilient environment that is adaptive enough to meet the dynamic fuel industry supply when it comes to safety, reliability, availability and cost efficiency.

Key Accountabilities/Objectives:

Contribute to the development of site business strategy, translating and executing it at Operations level. Ensure compliance of Operations with all relevant legislative requirements (e.g. OHS Act, ISO14001/9001), industry best practices and as well as Internal HSSE Policy and procedures. Manage operational risks by ensuring that all risks are identified, analyzed and mitigated to ALARP. Enforce application of continuous improvement processes to ensure safe, reliable, efficient and optimum Operations to achieve agreed targets as defined in site objectives. Lead operational performance reviews through benchmarking and Plant condition monitoring. Ensure that the Operations assets are maintained through application of ASSET Management Systems with suitable strategies. Set clear objectives for all maintenance disciplines to ensure optimum plant performance and availability to achieve the agreed safety, integrity and reliability targets. Lead maintenance scope definition, planning and control of plant\systems outages and major shutdowns to ensure optimum performance. Ensure longer-term fit- for-purpose of the Operations assets to meet legislative, environmental and market demands through Master Planning and initiating Project Development Requests to benefit from latest technical advances. Approve scope of work, provide economic justification for such projects and approve drawings for plant changes. Motivate plant/change items, which improve operation of the plant from a reliability, safety and output perspective. Act as a project sponsor when required. Effectively manage multi-level interfaces and integrations. Control implementation of change to processing plant. Carry accountability for Operations staff and manage people’s responsibilities through Operations Leadership Team. Develop and maintain harmonious relationships with all employees Lead all annual l financial management activities within Operations. Act as the Incident Commander during emergency incidents response.
