What You’ll Do: You'll perform all aspects of sewing associated with production of various boat model types of cushions, v-berth beds, etc. May include pattern cutting. Responsibilities: + Able to read and understand work instructions + Able to meet production deadlines and stay on task + Able to maintain sewing machine + Know how to change needle, bobbin and adjust machine tension, etc. + Learn all boat part names and how to read travelers + Learn all colors of vinyl and threads + Learn to sew flat pieces and comforters using double top stitch, single top stitch and zippers + Learn how to sew all boat parts + Learn how to repair sewn covers + Willingness to cross-train and learn other areas with a good attitude + Other duties as assigned What you Bring: + Minimum 1 year sewing experience with upholstery + High school diploma or GED preferred. + Manual dexterity + Basic knowledge of hand tools + Attention to details, deadline oriented and organized + Basic math skills + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Good attendance and good attitude needed Physical Requirements: Including, but not limited to: + climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs. stretching, squatting and bending. + May work on knees, seated, laying down, standing up. + May require individual to be in awkward positions.
