HDR is seeking a qualified individual to join a group of experts in the Ports and Maritime group as a Maritime and Waterfront Infrastructure EIT/Designer in our Miami office. This individual will participate with teams to design small to large projects (construction values typically from $500K to $100M) and the primary focus will be on geotechnical, structural, and general civil design elements of projects. Primary responsibility will involve performing design tasks on projects ranging from limited complexity and scope to those including complex features. Efforts will be guided by senior and mid-level engineers and management.
Primary Responsibilities
Performing design tasks to clearly illustrate constructible/practical plans, details, and technical specificationsConstruction field observations to verify general conformance with contract documentsProduction of documents (studies/reports, designs, details, sketches, opinions of costs)Typical projects include the design of deep water bulkhead walls (anchored, combi-wall, cantilevered, etc.), reinforced concrete wharves and platforms, berthing structures including fender design, analyses of ship mooring structures, line tensioning calculations, elevated pedestrian walkways and access systems, geometrical studies of ship/equipment operational envelopes, etc.#LI-JS6
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringEIT or ability to obtain in 6 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will be called a Maritime and Infrastructure Designer and expected to obtain the EIT for career progressionProficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCADAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of structural design experience is a strong plusPrevious experience working on maritime and waterfront structures is preferred but not requiredMaster's degree in Structural Engineering is a plusWhy HDR
