The Market Development Manager is responsible for forging partnerships with OEMs, identifying growth opportunities; building high, wide and deep industry connections; driving new specifications; managing projects start to finish; and ultimately driving profitable growth by focusing on assigned segments. The position requires up to 50% overnight travel (primarily US & Canada). **PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:** _To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions._ + Drive profitable growth: Own assigned market segments—Develop strategic alliances with target customers; understand applications for check valves, learn customers’ buying process, develop value proposition, identify target customers and drive growth. + Spark Innovation: Build stakeholder relationships with research & engineering, product development leaders within customers’ organization; generate VOC and drive new product development; lead cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, product management and marketing) to accelerate product launches. Get US Valve’s solutions specified to support customers' new product development. + Generate competitive insights: Research market trends; evaluate changing customer needs, capture competitive intelligence such as product & service performance and acceptability, and represent USV at tradeshows and conferences. + Strategic Planning: Support development of long term strategic plan; develop and execute on annual operating plan to deliver financial results, including orders, revenues, margins, and account receivables. + Collaborate with other business units to achieve win-win growth. **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:** + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Technical field strongly preferred + 7-10 years equivalent work experience with proven professional sales and/or business development experience + Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools is preferred + Proven ability to work cross-functionally and message to all levels in the organization + Proven track record of delivering sales results + Valve or pneumatic industry experience preferred + Strong personal leadership and experience working in manufacturing environment + Project management experience + Strong negotiation and contract review skills **MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:** + Creation and maintenance of an opportunity funnel that will help the organization achieve its 3-year growth goal + Identification of growing trends in assigned markets where USV is well suited to support the application requirements + Supporting of the larger commercial organization as it relates to target markets and customers + Focus and drive key initiatives of the organization **EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:** + Ability to manage priorities + Must have ability to build relationships with current / new customers + Must have high degree of leadership and ability to influence cross-functionally + Must be self-motivated, show initiative, anticipate, and prevent issues by executing advanced problem-solving skills + Demonstrated ability to lead and work well in a team environment + Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills + Must be able to work well with customers and internal team members to lead positive change in a fast-paced work environment *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: + While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear + Employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds + Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus *WORK ENVIRONMENT: **·Office & Manufacturing environment** *As required by the Americans Disabilities Act (ADA) Are you ready to join a different kind of company where our people, our culture, and our commitments are centered around providing trusted solutions that improve lives around the world? **Total Rewards** The compensation range for this position is $104,000.00 - $156,000.00, depending on experience.
