Job Profile Summary
Responsible for the oversight of funeral and cemetery operations within an assigned market. Provides overall operations and market share leadership and strategic support to Market & Location Managers within area of responsibility. Serves as the bridge between Corporate strategy and tactical location execution. Responsible for ensuring all locations within the market follow Company policies and Corporate guidelines. Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of operational processes and procedures.

Grow/Maintain Market Share

Coach and support teams to develop/maintain customer and community relationships and gain/ maintain market shareDevelop and implement market-level marketing and revenue initiativesDevelop plans, strategies and methods for accomplishing revenue-building objectives in markets/locationsShare best practices and management techniquesTranslate strategies into tactical plans for Market Managers to executeMonitor customer satisfaction results and develop strategies to address issues

Business Planning/Expense Management             

Evaluate and bring forward all new business ventures, growth and market dominance opportunitiesDirect and lead financial/budget planning efforts for the markets in area of responsibility    Evaluate and manage the operational and financial performance of all locations in the marketConduct operational and financial reviews with Market Managers every periodEnsure corrective action and follow-up is taken when required

Staff Management and Leadership

Provide leadership and performance improvement through coaching and development Identify skill gaps of current associates and provide on-the-job coaching to ensure they are able to complete all responsibilitiesEnsure training modules completed in a timely mannerAdvocate Seamless ServiceConduct conference calls and/or Town Halls as neededMaintain regular communication with Management teamClearly communicate daily expectations

Compliance/Health and Safety      

Ensure that all Company policies and procedures and applicable laws are communicated, enforced and adhered to in all locations in the marketWork with Compliance, Human Resources and Legal departments on related compliance and legal mattersEnsure that all aspects of services provided are performed to operating standardsStay familiar with content of Company policies and procedures

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelors’ degree preferred

Experience

5 years’ experience in business development management and strategic analysis or equivalent experience in a related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong communication skills, understanding financial statements, management over multiple sites and large geographic area, marketing & merchandisingGeneral understanding of strategic planning, project management, task management, empowering and sales managementAbility to prioritize and multi-taskUnderstanding financial implications of decisionsAdaptable to work with various business entities within a local and enterprise-wide culture

WORK CONDITIONS

Work EnvironmentWork indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditionsLimited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling requiredStandard business dress is required

Work PosturesSitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per dayPhysical DemandsPhysical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
