Job Summary

Coordinates with assigned hospitals in a market, continuing education and in-service education including General Orientation. Ensures monthly education calendars are completed. Coordinates annual compliance and code of conduct training and other needed staff education. Develops short-term and long-term educational goals based on identified needs through Quality Council and annual assessments. Collaborates with managers and peers to evaluate staff competency.

Essential Functions

Develops short-term and long-term educational goals based on identified needs through Quality Council, Annual Assessments, etc.Develops specific orientation modules for new IP, new RN and new LVNForecasts and administers education operating budgetOversees planning and coordination of continuing and in-service education for the market hospitalsOversees development, planning and coordination of general hospital orientation. Coordinates with various department to include their specialty areaOversees development, planning and coordination of periodic in-service training on those issues identified by the Hospital Quality Council or a designated Performance Improvement TeamServes as member of Hospital Quality CouncilPromotes adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance program by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsBasic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word-processing and spreadsheet softwareAble to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situationsAbility to maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departmentsKnowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirementsAbility to demonstrate critical thinking, appropriate prioritization and time management skillsAbility to work under stress and to respond quickly in emergency situationsMust read, write and speak fluent EnglishMust have good and regular attendanceApproximate percent of time required to travel\: 20%Performs other related duties as assigned

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing requiredMaster’s degree or clinical specialty preferred

Licenses/Certification

Appropriate state licensure for registered nurseBLS and ACLS certifications required

Experience

Minimum two years’ experience as clinical preceptor or management experience requiredMinimum five years’ experience in an acute care Medical/Surgical and/or ICU/CCU setting

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing requiredMaster’s degree or clinical specialty preferred
