Introducing the Regulatory Control SME role within our esteemed COO team! Your ultimate objective? To ensure SLB's compliance by executing and monitoring controls across the regulatory landscape.
Join us and be a vital part of the first Line of Defence (1LOD) Regulatory and Controls (RAC) function in the dynamic Markets Business & Regulatory Controls (MB&RC) Team. You'll take charge of managing our outsourced governance framework, overseeing regulatory reporting and controls for a wide range of regulations including MiFID II, Dodd Frank, CFTC, SEC Reporting, EMIR, SMMD, MMSR, and SFTR.
Your responsibilities will span across the entire scope of Santander London Branch (SLB) activities.
You'll be responsible for validating and smoothly transitioning business changes that impact the Regulatory Control Framework into business as usual.

The difference you’ll make:
Ensuring that all KPIs are performed in line with the service level agreements and any breaches are formally tracked and raised
Managing risk events and providing root cause analysis, risk assessments and providing sufficient escalation through the appropriate channels
Monitoring and tracking escalations to resolution across the business
Ensuring Santander London Branch has a robust and tested framework by designing, executing and maintaining an up to date quality assurance testing programme
Contributing to the implementation of the Regulatory Changes in SLB
Developing test procedures, executing and document testing, and reporting results to Management
What you’ll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
Technical Knowledge of MiFID, EMIR, DFA and/or SFTR and the transaction reporting requirements
Good understanding of the regulatory landscape especially thematic reviews / critical topics raised by the FCA and PRA
Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject (such as Law, Business and STEM) or equivalent
Experience of Corporate and Investment banking
It would also be nice for you to have:
Technical knowledge of other core regulations such us:, Margin, SMMD/MMSR, Volcker and FATCA/CRS
FO, MO, Compliance 2LOD, Internal Audit, Consultancy/Internal Change team background
Experience in regulatory controls, processes, systems and regulatory change projects
Master’s degree or MBA or equivalent
What else you need to know:
This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
