Within Guardian’s Consumer Advocacy team, our best-in-class market research program operates similar to an internal agency, conducting end-to-end qualitative and quantitative market research, as well as providing 360-degree consultative insights across the enterprise to support target priorities and business growth.
This Market Research Senior Manager role is focused on supporting the Group and Worksite Benefits business (focused on dental, vision, life, disability, supplemental health, etc), Retail Insurance business, and Individual Markets Insurance and Wealth Management businesses (focused on life and disability insurance, annuities, retirement products), as well as additional businesses throughout the company with timely insights.
A successful candidate will have deep technical knowledge of successfully executing the complete market research process across a range of research methods, business topics and stakeholder groupsThis person will have deep experience in running the steps needed for designing, conducting and delivering custom market research. Typical methodologies this person is very comfortable with can include: brand health, segmentation, concept testing, product innovation, loyalty, trade-off, receptivity and preference, positioning, value prop, etc.This person helps Guardian leaders understand the attitudes, behaviors and needs/wants of consumers and other stakeholders through quantitative (surveys) and qualitative market research (focus groups, interviews, discussion boards, etc). They are extremely familiar with designing, conducting and interpreting unstructured and structured data from these types of research studies techniques/sources and curating the insights from the data for executive-level audiences They will have a depth of knowledge in delivering insights on a variety of topics that are strategic as well as tactical; insurance and financial industry knowledge is desired but not required A successful candidate will also possess the ability and experience to creatively explore research data resources to explain key themes impacting the industry and our business.They will also have a depth of experience partnering with leaders to deliver meaningful insights that support business decision-making at the executive-level.You Will
Own end-to-end market research responsibilities managing all aspects of primary research projects, including: assessing the needs of our business partnerships, establishing research methodology, conducting research execution and report development, and presenting insights-first analysis to business partners and executive leaders. Core focus areas include:Custom research proposal and design: Subject matter expert in designing comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research methodologies based on business partner objectives and research needsMarket research proficiency, including creating and delivering high-quality outcomes in a timely manner for:Quantitative research: survey questionnaires, quotas/sample management, programming in Qualtrics, Quantilope and/or other software, data collection with panel/vendor support, data processing in platform, Excel and/or other analytic platforms, toplines, scorecards and reports in PowerPointQualitative research: discussion outlines and guides, recruiting management, digital discussion boards, moderating/moderator experience for focus groups, in-depth interviews and other foundational qualitative techniques, toplines, video reels, toplines, scorecards and reportsSocialization/activation with business partners: Comfort in being the go-to for business partners with strong insights-driven storytelling skills to drive meaningful insights and support subsequent utilization across the businessYou Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, English, Communications, or a related field.MBA or Master’s degree desiredDeep technical knowledge of market researchKnowledge/experience of the insurance and/or finance industry is a plusStrong project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple studies at onceAble to seamlessly bridge internal team members and vendor partners in the collection of data inputs and providing relevant, timely insights across a high volume of partnersStrong storytelling skills that go beyond just data/information sharing, good attention to detail, formatting and quality output is critical, as is careful, thorough work that is concise and clearA depth of experience partnering with executives to deliver significant insights that support business decision-making and growthMust be very comfortable with interpreting numbers and data through advanced analytics and advanced Excel skills, and across a variety of structured and unstructured data techniquesAdvanced PowerPoint skills required to visually support analysis and reportingLocation & Travel:
This role is 3+ days a week in office out of our Hudson Yards NYC or Bethlehem PA office5% travel to other offices as requiredSalary Range:
$101,180.00 - $166,220.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
