Implements approved promotions and ensures stock is available for sale. Responds to unusual or emergency situations outside normal business hours as necessary. Business Development:Ensures customers’ needs are being met by developing innovative services with a constant focus on exceeding customer’s expectations. Developing and building wholesale bakery, deli, and party catering services of the store. Adapt to changes in operational plans throughout the year to ensure growth of the business. Food Operations:Manages, with the Deli/Produce Supervisor and Meat Department Lead, purchasing and inventory of fresh food products. Ensures proper storage, handling, and sale of fresh produce/meat inventory. Monitors inventory turns and minimizes shrink and waste.
Computer literacy. Ability to master company software for operations, financial data, human resource applications, as well as Microsoft Office suite within a reasonable training period. Good planning skills are necessary. Basic math skills are necessary.Must be able to read and apply company procedure documents.Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to greet customers and provide information in an accurate and courteous manner. Must be able to work in a team environment.Must be able to handle multiple tasks accurately and courteously. Must be able to complete company-sponsored training and required updates within specified training periods.

Your Role:
JOB PURPOSE:
The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the profitability of the store by providing effective leadership to store staff, managing costs, while maintaining company standards and State and Federal laws for sales of controlled products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resource Management:Hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates the performance of all store staff.Handles disciplinary issues within company guidelines. Provides corrective feedback. Maintains performance records.Prepares and maintains master schedules for store operations, ensuring coverage at peak times while controlling labor costs. Monitors labor costs. Completes assigned training timely.Ensures all staff training, compliance, and re-certification is completed in a timely manner. Financial Management: Monitors sales, pricing, and inventory levels in all categories of the store. Maintains pricing and inventory policies to ensure store profitability. Orders inventory as needed.Monitors vendor performance.Prepares bank deposits, reconciles daily receipts with PDI, resolves any variances. Delivers bank deposit to appropriate bank.Compliance:Monitors compliance with operational requirements. Monitors compliance with cash handling requirements.Monitors compliance with Safety and food safety policies as well as State and Federal regulations.Monitors compliance with State and Federal regulations on sale of alcohol and tobacco products.Store Management: Prepares/reviews standard and ad hoc operational reports on store business. QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age or older. High school degree or GED combined with a minimum of five (5) years of experience grocery operation experience, including supervisory and leadership responsibilities. Progress toward or completion of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Knowledge of food retail marketing practices. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Solid decision-making skills. Strong analytical skills.Previous supervisory experience. Budget management experience. Inventory management experience.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with inspectors and vendors. ServSafe certification appreciated but not mandetory to apply. Company may provide introductory or additional training where applicable.Computer literacy. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds throughout a normal shift, moving and stacking merchandise, cleaning, sweeping, shoveling snow.Ability to have difficult or uncomfortable disciplinary conversations in a professional manner.Ability to lead employees to create and sustain an environment for effective teamwork. Ability to be on call to handle emergency situations. Ability to stand for extended periods.Ability to work in commercial refrigerators and freezers for extended periods.Ability to operate microwaves, small ovens, scales, and other cooking equipment. Ability to read and apply procedures, recipes, and other operating instructions. Ability to safely handle all necessary cutting tools.Ability to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
