About the Office of Admissions
The Office of Admissions, located in the Division of Enrollment and Access, is tasked with enrolling an incoming student body consistent with the mission and vision of access, research, teaching, service and engagement at Colorado State University. Admissions is responsible for coordinating enrollment efforts across the university related to inclusive recruitment and counseling, marketing, application, strategy, and technical support functions for most prospective students. With over 50 full-time staff and an additional 60 student employees, duties range from marketing and communication, prospective student events, application processing and decisions, enrollment strategy, recruitment and outreach, customer service, systems support and data analytics. Through innovative and strategic approaches, Admissions strives to balance its growth in attracting an increasingly diverse and well-prepared student body while remaining true to its land-grant mission and heritage. We employ a holistic, comprehensive review process to select new undergraduates, not only in light of their preparation, but their potential to successfully contribute to the campus and world community.
About the Work Unit
The Communications and Marketing team currently consists of the Director, the Senior Assistant Director of Digital Marketing, Content Specialists, Project Coordinator, a Marketing and Operations Specialist and a System Analyst. The team is responsible for all forms of communication and marketing to prospective students and their families via multiple platforms, including but not limited to: application processes, events, recruitment, next steps after admission, yield/melt, campus partner events and information, and education about CSU and the Fort Collins community.
Position Summary
The Office of Admissions seeks a motivated and energetic Marketing and Automation Specialist to execute promotional and transactional emails for prospective students and events. Housed in the Marketing and Communications unit of Admissions, this key position works collaboratively within the department, and across the University, to implement superior communications and processes that result in maximum attendance at a wide range of events, and marketing campaigns to positively impact the engagement, inquiry rate, application rate, and enrollment of prospective students through communications within the Slate Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) system. The position reports to the Director, Communications and Marketing.
Required Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field from accredited institution
+ Three years’ full-time professional work experience in marketing, communications, advertising
+ Experience with customer or email client software management system or related sophisticated computer systems
+ Experience writing professional communications with attention to grammar and detail, as demonstrated through experience writing for email, the web, publications, marketing campaigns, and/or professional presentations
+ Excellent ability to focus on all areas of a project or task, no matter how small the detail
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Experience planning, creating, and measuring marketing campaigns using an automation tool or Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) system
+ Experience with email design using HTML and CSS
+ Experience in creative software, such as Adobe InDesign or Adobe Photoshop, and creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
+ Experience with professional event communications
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong work ethic and a positive, friendly, and customer service-oriented attitude

+ Work within the CRM to develop, code, maintain, and deliver specific messages, ranging from email to text
+ Work with Admissions Systems team and others to solve problems and improve activities related to CRM marketing
+ Work closely with the content team to develop new campaigns and communications based on data-informed decision making and best practices to deliver more relevant content

+ Develop and implement communication for different types of events
+ Collaborate with the Admissions Engagement and Outreach team as well as colleges and academic departments on event objectives, program details, and target audience to inform communication strategy and content
+ Develop and manage the content, design, and production schedule for event presentations, slide decks, flyers, posters, agendas, email promotions, etc.
+ Working with the Marketing and Communications team, create and post event-focused content to Admissions and University social media sites and Admissions website
+ Evaluate effectiveness of CRM campaigns based on Google Analytics, UTM tracking, open and click-through rates, registrations, and Google Analytics
