Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator
Under the leadership of the supervisor, responsible for assisting with marketing and community relations needs of the Back to the Bays Initiative through design and delivery of campaigns . Work with CCE resource specialists and educators to assist in engaging the public in the education and stewardship related programming offered in support of Back to the Bays goals. Develop social media and email campaign strategies to further the messaging and awareness of the work being conducted at the numerous Back to the Bays Stewardship Sites across Eastern Long Island. Play a primary role in special event planning and execution, expanding the Back to the Bays membership and business give back programs, and working to expand community partnerships and fundraising potential.

    

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or closely related discipline.Experience relevant to the role of the position.Ability to pass motor vehicle screen, including valid driver’s license.Proficiency with windows-based software including use of the internet and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.Proven in-depth knowledge in the field of marketing and communication.Experience in event planning and execution.Experience utilizing social media platforms and graphic design software and development of email campaigns.Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively with advisory boards and committees, community and funding partners.Ability to initiate, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate media and fundraising strategies.Ability to effectively participate in professional team efforts.Ability and willingness to work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written and visual channels using traditional methods and educational tools, as well as electronic technology (e.g., video, audio, computers, etc.).Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Cooperative Extension or other similar educational organizationsKnowledge of Squarespace and CanvaExperience working in a non-profit setting

POSITION DETAILS:

Salary:            $27 per hour

Schedule:      NONEXEMPT – Reg: 20+ Hours per week

No relocation or VISA Sponsorship available
