Marketing and Merchandising Analyst

Albertsons-Safeway's Northern California Division has an opening for a Marketing and Merchandising Analyst. Reporting to the Marketing Promotions Manager and Sales Manager(s), the Marketing and Merchandising Analyst assists in developing and implementing marketing programs.

Responsibilities

Assist Marketing Manager with marketing projects for the Northern California division. Coordinate the content and execution of marketing vehicles including traditional and digital campaigns. Coordinate with vendors and stores on the execution of the agreed marketing plans. Visit stores as necessary to observe results of marketing plans and/or support the marketing plan. Provide marketing and merchandising with program results for specific initiatives. Works as a liaison between the creative team and internal clients on marketing projects. Collects market, industry, and consumer data Supports/participates in creation of the marketing strategy

Salary range is $68,640 to $82,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience required.  A degree in Marketing, Business, Management or related field preferred 2-5 years’ experience in marketing and or related field required. 1-3 years retail management experience preferred

Skills and Experiences

Thorough understanding of print and broadcast advertising, creative and print production, sales promotion, loyalty marketing, merchandising and store operations. Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan and implement strategically as well as tactically. Strong initiative, customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills with experience in negotiation and consensus building. Ability to work independently, prioritize and handle multiple deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly attentive to details, able to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Retail experience preferred. High regard for data integrity and proper maintenance of systems. Must be capable of understanding the retail environment. High degree of initiative using analytical and leadership skills. Computer knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office

Travel Requirements: Vary depending on geography

Physical Environment

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal. Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties. Work day is fast paced and stressful.
