Marketing Business Analyst – Paid Search

Description:

We are seeking a talented Marketing Business Analyst to shape and execute our search engine marketing strategy. You will be responsible for planning and implementing day-to-day operations, reporting, budgeting, and optimization of eBay’s Paid Search campaigns in Display/GDN/Meta/Social. Paid Search is an integral part of eBay’s broader Performance Marketing organization and serves as one of the key growth drivers of the business. With unmatched inventory eBay is unique among online retailers, and with huge scale comes massive marketing investments to connect sellers and buyers. Our mission is to 1) develop efficiencies through continuous testing and scale, 2) mature best practices across markets and 3) strategically invest in platforms and tools to improve operations. Responsibilities

Campaign execution, optimization, and ongoing monitoringDefine/manage campaign objectives in a fast paced, ever-changing environmentAnalyze campaign performance, contextualize trends, spot outliers, opportunities for improvementInfluence campaign strategy – staying aligned and working towards achievable outcomesWork with multi-functional teams to leverage expertise, decipher technical requirements and inform solutionsCollaborate with business partners to establish clear marketing goals and deliverablesAd hoc issue investigation and quantification of business impactCommunicate results consistently and clearlyContribute to test ideation – hypothesis, measurement, designCreate and organize regular reporting documents and status updates

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, applied mathematics or related field preferred2-5 years professional experienceGeneral knowledge of Search Engine Marketing a plusAbility to conceptualize business problems and solving them through data analysisCurious in nature and enjoys sleuthing data to identify insightsWorks well independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with teamStrong oral and written communication skills – comfortable presenting to groupsStrong personal work ethic, including personal initiative and ownershipAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance prioritiesExperience with SQL scripting and self-serving on data from multiple data platformsWorking knowledge of analysis techniques -- regression, clustering, predictionHands on experience with R, Scala, Python or equivalent tools a plusAdWords experience a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$90,400 - $143,550

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
