The Marketing & Communication Country Head is a crucial leadership role that encompasses oversight of all in-country marketing and communications strategy and tactics, directly reporting to the Country President and the Regional implementation of internal and external communications and marketing activities, ensuring the initiatives are executed efficiently and in line with business objectives. The MarComm Head works closely with the in-country management team and product and service business leaders to define the plans to support business growth and retention. This executive is also responsible to ensure brand and message consistency across all online and offline channels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Internal Communications
Ensure effective delivery of news and business strategy content to employees using all available & relevant channels. Collaborate with the business, HR, and the regional internal comms head on change management initiatives, embedding Chubb culture and driving employee engagement. Manage local implementation of local, regional and global internal comms programs. Manage the country section of the company’s intranet.2. External Communications & Earned Media
Coordinate the development of proactive PR and social media programs including external announcements and thought leadership activity in support of business activities in the country. Coordinate media relations and prepare external communications to relay information about the organization to the press and through social media channels and the wider community. Maintains and improves relations and communications between the organization and all other stakeholders. Provide communications council to the country’s management team, deal with issue management coordinating with the regional and global external communications heads. Ensure the country’s compliance with the company’s external communications policies.3. Marketing, Go-to-market & Paid Media
Develop and executes marketing strategies for each customer segment and products/services designed to advance awareness, familiarity, intent to engage, revenue and long-term loyalty with the company’s brand and product lines. Manage the strategic use of paid advertising, social media, and sponsorship to further regional and local marketing agendas. Develop and oversee implementation of marketing campaigns integrated in business plans, managing implementation of regional and global campaigns in the country. This includes identifying key audiences based on insights, developing the marketing strategy including channels (e.g., email, direct mail, paid social, paid digital, owned, shared, and earned media, and events), and assets across the funnel stages (awareness, interest, sales). Events and corporate hospitality - Support executives and business owners deliver high-impact presence at large-scale external and internal meetings and events. Prepare, coordinate, and oversee all event aspects including budget, housing, registration, dinners, logistics, transportation, communications, and entertainment. Translate commercial business segment (agents, brokers, and MADs) business plans and priorities into effective marketing strategy, plans and engagement activity to help communicating Chubb’s value proposition to these audiences via multiple channels & marketing mix (includes Customer Advisory Boards and educational programs). This includes incentive and promotional campaigns and events (i.e., Chubb Master Rewards program, Sales Conventions, etc.)4. Digital Marketing & Social Media
Develop and executes digital marketing and social media strategies designed to advance awareness, familiarity, intent to engage, revenue, and long-term loyalty with the company’s brand and product lines. Manage the strategic use of organic social media to further local marketing agendas (business development plans). Support positioning Chubb as a digital, cool, warm brand, focused on customer experience and showcase Chubb’s transformation with fresh and modern communication. Manage content and ensure timely updates of the country’s chubb.com pages and social media channels.5. Market Intelligence
Manage market research conducted by vendors and in house teams to understand the trends and customer preferences, collect actionable insights related to brand perceptions, value propositions, market dynamics, strategic opportunities, cultural trends, or other insights to support business decision-making. Commissioning and using research (primary and secondary) to direct and indirect marketing strategy and planning.6. Brand
Support building and protecting the Chubb brand ensuring consistency and compliance with brand guidelines. Have an eye for detail and copy, ensuring all marketing materials are consistent with global guidelines and messaging.7. MarComms Operations
Develop innovative methodologies, techniques, and criteria for projects, pushing the boundaries of what is possible when necessary. Manage the marketing and communications budget, maximizing value for money, and ensuring resources are being allocated appropriately. Manage external agencies to ensure that they deliver quality work on time and within budget. Work with procurement and legal to ensure appropriate supplier contracts are in place. Develop reporting metrics and dashboards for monitoring project progress, milestones, and tracking outcomes. Data – ensure legal, compliance, privacy and security guidelines are followed for all activities in the country.8. People management
Lead, develop and inspire your team of MarComm professionals to be the best they can be. Work with cross-functional teams and agencies to manage complex projects and ensure successful execution. Lead, mentor, and develop a team, providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed. 10-15 years in managerial positions in-house or in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations agencies. Excellent collaboration skills with colleagues at all levels in the organization. Proven ability to manage multiple disciplines and tasks, while juggling priorities and projects under pressure. Experience in successfully leading and managing a marketing and communications team either directly or virtually, ensuring completion of program/campaigns from conceptualization to the achievement of its objectives. High business acumen which can translate into effective communications and marketing practices, yielding results. Experience of successfully working in an international matrix team environment is desirable. Experience in both online and offline marketing strategies and tactics is desirable Strong understanding and experience in content marketing, and applicable distribution channels including use of social media to reach and engage business decision-makers is a plus. Insurance or financial services experience is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, and related fields. Agency experience and/or marketing experience preferred. Strong critical thinking and strategy skills, with the ability to develop and execute complex marketing strategies. Highly organized and forward-thinking with a vision of continuous improvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with management and peers. Proficient in MS applications (MS word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Teams). Native Spanish and fluent English speaking. Portuguese is a plus.
