Purpose
Oversees and drives all marketing efforts in the division in partnership with marketing/merchandising and retail teams.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Responsible for overseeing the divisional advertising budget and planning
• Collaborates with the Division Sales Managers to create successful marketing promotions
• Responsible for all stages of the weekly ad planning and all special marketing campaigns
• Manages and works closely with outside advertising agencies
• Works with the VP of Marketing on execution of the weekly ad meetings
• Responsible for outside sponsorship opportunities and works closely with Public Affairs
• Provides input to Corporate on their merchandising strategies
• Works with key vendors on divisional marketing promotions
• Drives market branding campaigns/programs (consistent with Corporate) as well as providing support to all retail stores
• Oversees division/market research and works with corporate Consumer Insight group
• Reviews comments on current division performance from Divisional VPs of Marketing and Retail to assist and responds appropriately
• Work with all stores on overall implementation of branding, signage, and competitive activities.
• Monitors competitor’s advertising, promotions, marketing initiatives and develops strategies to keep division competitive
• Collaborates with the corporate team on maximizing our loyalty platform
Job Requirements
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education Level:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field
Experience Level:
• 5-10+ years of retail/category/marketing experience
• 15 total years’ experience in grocery industry
• 5 yrs. experience managing people
Skills and Experiences:
• Marketing experience in retail
• Market research experience
• Proven ability to develop merchandiser
• Sales orientation experience
• Arbitration/problem resolution
• Good communication skills

Physical Environment
• Work may be performed in a temperature-controlled environment
• Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
• May spend long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
• May use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
• Workday is fast paced; some evening and weekend work may be required
