Position SummaryThe Marketing Intern will assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies that enhance our brand visibility and engagement across various platforms. This role will involve supporting public relations and digital marketing efforts to reach our target audiences effectively.
The Mom's Meals Summer Internship Program is a paid project-based 10 or 12-week program beginning May 19 or June 2, 2025, and ending August 8,2025. Our project-based internship program provides interns with the training, coaching, and hands on experience to be successful professionals in their chosen fields. Our internship assignments focus on practical, value-added projects that help create a connection between what is learned in the classroom and what is required in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors.
This internship can by onsite or hybrid, but must be local to the Des Moines, IA area to work onsite a few days/week.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited toPublic Relations Support:Work closely with and support Mom’s Meals’ Public Relations Manager in implementing the company’s PR strategyCreate engaging content for external audiences including news releases, website content, social media content, and other PR-related assetsMaintain earned media measurement tool by properly categorizing earned media and provide ongoing earned media reportsBuild relationships with clients and potential clients, suppliers, and the mediaProvide assistance in scheduling and coordinating different events
Digital Marketing Assistance:Contribute to social media content creation and management across platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).Help with email marketing campaigns, including writing copy, curating contact lists and designing templatesConduct research on industry trends and competitor strategies to inform marketing initiativesAssist in the analysis and reporting of digital marketing metrics and provide insights for improvementAid in creation and management of content marketing campaigns including writing briefs, proofing content for grammatical errors and brand compliance, and search engine optimization (SEO)
Cross-Department Collaboration:Work closely with the marketing team to ensure consistency in messaging and brandingCollaborate with other departments to support overall business goalsRequired Skills and ExperienceJunior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, or related fieldStrong writing and content creation skills in alignment with AP styleFamiliarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Hootsuite).Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong time management, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to build relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong desire to learn along with professional drivePhysical RequirementsRepetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingersSedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periodsVisual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
