Marketing Intern (Retention) - Summer 2025
About The RoleThe RealReal seeks an experienced Marketing Intern to join our Retention Marketing team, who is passionate about identifying and creating solutions that help our business grow. In this role, you will focus on marketing campaigns to engage our customers across email, SMS, push, in app and direct mail messaging. You will work most closely with copy and creative teams along with cross-functional partners like data science and merchandising. The ideal candidate is both creative and data driven, passionate about personalization, exhibits excellent problem solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a willingness to adapt and a commitment to getting things done.

**This is a 10 week internship from 6/2/2025 - 8/8/2025.**

What You Get To Do Every Day

Manage marketing executional calendar

Create audiences and coupons for promotional campaigns

Build omni channel creative briefs for ad hoc campaigns 

Analyze and report results of new and ongoing campaigns across email, in-app, push, sms and direct mail channels

Partner with marketing production team to QA day-to-day campaigns ensuring copy, assets and links are correct

Communicate with project managers to ensure marketing assets are handed off to production team on time

Key Projects

Audit existing campaigns and audiences across all channels

Manage and maintain the marketing documentation for platforms and processes

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:

Full-time (minimum 12 credit hours) undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field graduating after December 2025

Strong analytical skills and a passion for data-driven decision-making.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organizational skills to manage campaigns and meet deadlines.

Precision in executing marketing campaigns and monitoring results.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Requirements:

Familiar with The RealReal business model (two-sided marketplace: buyers & sellers)

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Braze or similar ESPs

Proficient in Excel

Understanding of retention/lifecycle marketing concepts

This role is not eligible for benefits.

The expected hourly rate for this role is 20.00-25.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
