What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC provides integrated capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending and top-ranked research to corporate, government and institutional clients around the world. We also deliver innovative banking solutions and investment products to CIBC’s retail, wealth and business clients. Our goal is to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and the lead relationship bank for key clients globally.

We are responsible for client strategy marketing, events and sponsorships to support our corporate client relationships. We provide the Capital Markets leaders with the support that they require to help increase brand awareness, enhancing positioning and drive deeper client engagement.

You will work with the team to help drive the strategic marketing execution for CIBC Capital Markets. This will entail being abreast of industry best practices, tools and client insights to develop and execute the tactical roadmap to ensure industry leading positioning.  This role will be responsible for executing key marketing tactics to support client engagement and broader growth of brand equity through marketing activities. This role will work with key stakeholders and requires specialized skills to manage the various deliverables and components of the Client Strategy team’s mandate.  This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that provides extensive exposure to the Capital Markets business. We are looking for someone who is passionate about all things related to marketing content and collateral,  with insights on new trends to help enhance CIBC Capital Market’s marketing efforts and the overall client experience.

How You’ll Succeed

Leadership - Producing and managing core marketing deliverables for the  Capital Markets business to drive the evolution of industry-leading client experience and marketing strategy

Concept & design - Contribute to the concept, design and oversee the production of various marketing assets. Assist with the design and production of monthly newsletters, collateral pieces, podcasts, etc. Support the writing of new marketing content for our Capital Markets partners and overall brand ads.

Strategy - Develop marketing strategies and execute plans for key events and sponsorships. Support the development of digital marketing tactics to ensure consistent and industry leading experiences across all channels.

Enhance and innovate – Support the evolution of CIBC Capital Market’s marketing through recommended changes that incorporate industry best practices, while adhering to brand guidelines.

Drive efficiencies - Propose and develop ways to streamline processes in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness of activities

Who You Are

You have attained relevant education. Post-secondary degree, ideally in marketing or communications

You can demonstrate 5+ years of relevant work experience in a marketing management role - ideally experience with B2B financial services and capital markets specifically

You have strong fluency in marketing program and tactical management. Ability to develop a marketing plan and manage the deliverables for multi-tactic programs, across a range of tactics and channels.

You possess excellent communication skills. Excellent writing and editing skills are paramount for the development of marketing materials; along with strong verbal skills to be able to interact with a broad range of stakeholders

You can demonstrate proven project management skills. Ability to manage large number of initiatives with many different stakeholders to ensure timelines are adhered to and outputs are all excellent quality

You know that details matter. Ability to manage error free production of marketing materials

You give meaning to data. Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and produce insights to ensure continuous improvement in marketing programs

You’re goal oriented. Ability to multi-task across many priorities, work independently when required, with minimal supervision

You’re motivated by collective success. Collaboration and agility, while being able to complete tasks independently with minimal direction.

You have exceptional time management skills. Ability to manage condensed time lines to assist in achieving business requirements; ability to work with leadership team to assess and prioritize tasks

You are technically savvy. Advanced proficiency across all MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
