What you will do:
The Marketing Manager will report to the LNM Head of Marketing and has direct supervision of a Marketing Analyst. This role will have the responsibility of establishing effective working relationships with representatives across the broader Wacker organization, anticipating, understanding, and managing the impact of changes in the competitive environment, new technology, and downstream markets along with implementing more complex global project/process initiatives, as well as be accountable for delivering on the marketing responsibilities for the Construction, and Carpet segments within LNM. This includes aligning long term strategic objectives across the market teams including achieving our revenue and profit targets within the NCA region. This role is also responsible for defining and executing the regional business strategy that consistently links to the long-term global market strategies – this requires a high level of leadership across the functional business teams. It is important to note that managing the key financial profitability metrics and positioning the portfolio for profitable top line growth will be leading indicators of success.
The Marketing Manager will encompass > $150 million in sales across multiple (2) complex markets with different competitive structures and value propositions including typically a high level of change. The major customers and markets have a significant global scope requiring regular interface and exchange across our Polymers global organizations. This role also has the responsibility for ensuring alignment with the Central America (WAMEX) regional teams on key contracts/topics, especially within the Construction market. This individual will lead some of the largest Polymer contract negotiations (each contract up to $50-85 million in total contract value for some individual contracts) and requires a higher level of contracting/negotiation expertise, including being an expert resource to extend these capabilities across the marketing, business, and sales teams (regional and/or global). Also, this role will lead exploration and strategic entry into new or adjacent markets for business growth by positioning of existing or new products and technologies.
Deliver on profitability and revenue planning for the defined markets (BP1 – BP5), which includes effective product, customer and market share portfolio planning along with price/margin optimization analysis. Scope of the role includes responsibility for annual revenue of ~ $ 150 million. Regional responsibility includes North American regions Strategy development and implementation within the defined markets while gaining alignment across the matrix business team with specific regional strategy implementation. Leads regional SKL/VKP five-year planning processes for the defined markets along with the MARCOM planning, competitive assessments (MDB) and Market Development for these Core markets. Lead for the contract negotiation strategy, planning and execution which includes customer contracts with total value of up to $ 50-85 million over the contract term and involve complex commercial positioning. Visibility and alignment with the most senior Wacker leadership is a requirement including approval up to the regional WCC President and Wacker Board. Responsible for anticipating, understanding, and managing the impact of changes in the competitive environment, new technology, and downstream markets along with implementing business development and global project/process initiatives within these areas including Sustainability impacts. This could include acquisition target identification and assessment. Serving as a contracting center of excellence for Polymers (regionally-globally). Advising other team members and extending contracting capabilities across the team will be a core responsibility.
What we need from you:
Bachelor's degree in technical field required, MS degree in technical field or business preferred. 8+ years of relevant experience required; Ideally 10 + years in sales and marketing management or in a role that heavily interfaces-supports these functions. Ability to travel up to 30%. Broad business background in sales, marketing, technology, commercial development, and supply chain functions. Extensive experience operating in a highly matrixed global organization preferably in specialty chemical markets. Significant experience and understanding in managing large complex customers (> $25 million / yr) and maintaining – expanding key positions at complicated accounts that represent market leaders in their respective segments. Managing or heavily interfacing with technology organizations focused on product development, application development, technical service, and asset optimization is key. Exceptional leadership and influence skills – especially across a matrixed organization. Highly motivated and results oriented – willingness to accept personal responsibility and accountability for results of the business. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to drive and implement change. Ability to define strategic direction and then translate into actionable objectives to be executed across the matrix (business) team and negotiate complex contractual agreements. Personnel and team organization skills and ability to manage within multi-cultural business settings. Proficiency with SAP business warehouse, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite of software What do we offer?
