Purpose

This person will manage marketing for several continuing and professional education programs across the university by conceptualizing, developing, and implementing impactful integrated marketing strategies and managing a team of marketing coordinators.

The position works closely with the marketing director, marketing project manager, and members of course programming, student services, and operations teams within Extended Education Ventures to develop and ensure successful implementation of marketing strategies. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and manage their projects with minimum oversight.

ResponsibilitiesPeople and Resource Management: Manage annual marketing budgets of $500,000+ for promoting the university’s Extended Campus website, Extended Education Ventures’ programs and departments, and cross-campus units procuring EEV marketing support services. Manage EEV’s marketing coordinators in their implementation of marketing initiatives. Assign work, coordinate output, and ensure all implementation is completed and delivered on time. Manage performance and professional development of direct reports.Strategy and Planning: With direction on priorities from the marketing director, and in collaboration with the course programming team and enrollment specialists, develop marketing strategies and plans for promotion and/or lead-generation campaigns to acquire and retain qualified students for existing and new EEV offerings and for increasing Extended Campus brand awareness. Set goals, measure results, and adjust initiatives accordingly. Accountable for the development of messaging and content creation and curation for integrated marketing campaigns.Content Management: Manage content marketing strategy and projects, including the development of written content and visual assets for email, direct mail, newsletters, advertising, social media, blogs, presentations, and press releases. In addition to planning and creation of compelling content, manage the hiring, project assignment, evaluation, and payment of marketing content providers, such as individual freelancers and agencies.Research: Examine market, audience, sales, and customer data to plan relevant campaign initiatives using a variety of venues and outlets. Help marketing director provide data-driven, strategic recommendations to leadership about educational landscape market conditions to anticipate development of new products.Web/Copy: Support the management of EEV-managed websites, including blogs, with new and updated content, including written copy, development and creation of customized pages, and content areas for special programs.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and at least six years of related professional experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Three or more years of experience managing a marketing team. Experience marketing continuing, professional, and online education within a higher education setting. Experience marketing multiple products or organizations simultaneously, in a highly-collaborative team environment.  Understanding of how to build brand awareness, create on-brand messaging, and conduct lead generation, establishing timelines and meeting deadlines. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications. Professional demeanor, strong customer service ethic, and good attention to detail.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree. More than the required years of experience. Experience developing lead-generation marketing strategies for use across multiple, integrated platforms. Experience conducting benchmarking research and analysis and recommending initiatives based on findings.Experience with Asana, Google Ads, Google Analytics, PhotoShop, WordPress, Drupal, and Marketo.

Salary Range

$63,000 + depending on qualifications

Working ConditionsThis position requires an in-person, on-campus work schedule with limited options for remote work.

Work Shift40 hours per week, flexible between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
