From bestselling authors like Max Lucado, Lysa TerKeurst, Emily Ley, Sadie Robertson Huff, and David Jeremiah, to beloved brands, our imprint is dedicated to publishing works that uplift and transform lives. Between the two imprints, we release 18-20 authored titles annually and general interest campaigns for 8-10 proprietary titles. We place a strong focus on elevating our previously released titles—allowing ample opportunity for creativity and variety—in a fun and dynamic workplace. The Marketing Manager provides marketing, email, organic social, digital, and content support for the Thomas Nelson and Zondervan marketing team and its roster of authors. This position works closely with other members of our top-performing marketing team and the director of publicity to ensure the highest level of visibility of our authors and content. **This is a hybrid position based out of our Nashville office.** **Responsibilities** **Craft Comprehensive Marketing Campaigns:** + Create compelling pre-sale, on-sale, and post-sale promotional strategies for 10-15 titles a year in physical, audio, and eBook formats. + Write compelling and tangible messaging, themes, and product hooks for new and previously released products for all ad formats. + Present or co-present marketing plans at key meetings with authors, agents, sales teams, and company executives. + Extract, assess, and communicate performance measures of marketing campaign effectiveness across digital and traditional marketing platforms, and sales channels. Regularly report to leadership. **Strategize and Implement Innovative** **Digital Strategies:** + Develop strategy and creative elements for paid ads across platforms such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube. + Identify online media outlets, execute media buy, setup target audiences, budgets, and bids. + Create dedicated landing pages for books while overseeing their functionality and needed updates. + Create and execute email marketing campaigns, including monitoring performance and growing email lists. + Engage with social media influencers for promotion. + Monitor and optimize paid ads and make real-time adjustments. **Execute General Administration and Invoice Management:** + Engage with digital community on owned platforms, address subscriber feedback, and grow reader groups and forums. + Set up new vendors in the accounting system, submit and track marketing invoices, and monitor internal cost systems. + Support the relationship between retail and sales partners and marketing by making specific marketing assets available and communicating marketing and publicity confirmations. + Assist with support functions like mailings, creating sales materials, etc. **Qualifications** **Knowledge/Work Experience:** 4 or moreyears of marketing experience. Experience with Google Ad Words and Google Analytics required. **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. **Industry Knowledge:** Interest in and basic understanding of the Christian nonfiction category and book publishing preferred. **Skills:** + Ability to create content for and manage organic social media on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. + Experience with email marketing and acquisition. + Proficiency with Canva, Photoshop, and/or other Adobe Creative Suite applications (preferred). + Can work independently to prioritize projects and problem solve. + Exhibits strong communication skills to articulate needs, provide projects updates, and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues and vendors. + Possess (or be willing to learn) design abilities to create promotional kits for books as well as promotional graphics, marketing materials for tours, and promotional videos. + Strong time management skills. + Detail-oriented and organized. + Ability to handle multiple competing projects and priorities at one time. **Work Environment:** Collaborative, quickly changing, and supportive.
