Job Summary

The Marketing Operations Manager will play a critical role in managing the infrastructure, processes, and tools necessary to support RPI’s marketing initiatives. The Manager will implement and optimize marketing technology, develop workflows, analyze performance, and enable cross-departmental collaboration to achieve university goals. This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Marketing and Communications in The Office of Community Engagement and Communication (OCEC).

Responsibilities include:

Develop, implement, and optimize marketing workflows and processes to support strategic initiatives across the university Manage and maintain marketing technology platforms (CRM, CMS) ensuring optimal performance and integration Analyze marketing performance data to provide actionable insights to inform decision-making Oversee the development and maintenance of marketing dashboards, including for data collection, and KPIs Manage vendor relationships for marketing tools and services Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, data privacy regulations, and industry best practices Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to drive marketing efficiency Support budget planning and tracking for marketing operations and campaigns

Minimum Qualifications

B.A. in Marketing, Communications, or a related field Five (5) or more years of experience in marketing operations or a related role Technically savvy with strong marketing technology experience Experience managing budgets

Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education or comparable environment is a plus 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong proficiency with marketing technology including email platforms, CMS, CRM, analytics (e.g., Monday.com, Slate, Salesforce, Google Analytics) Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data and provide insights Excellent project management and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge of higher education marketing is a plus.

Shift

Business Hours, Monday through Friday. Weekends or evenings occasionally required.

This position is eligible for hybrid or remote work options.

Travel

Local travel between campus locations only

Driving

Incidental driving possible, but not required

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $70,000 - $90,000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
