Marketing Programs Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: 

As a key pillar of the Marketing department, the Marketing Programs team is responsible for key revenue driving programs, including gift cards, warranty programs, our military discount program and others.  The Marketing Programs Specialist will help with the day-to-day operations and communications of our programs to ensure their continued success.  This role will have a strong focus on organization, documentation, reporting and communication with our stores and partners to support program needs.  The Marketing Programs Specialist role will help support our iconic brand and contribute to the mission of inspiring everyone to enjoy, love and conserve the great outdoors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists with projects through development and execution of project plans, timelines and profit/loss analysis. May assist with project expenses to budget and invoice processing.Day to day functions related to assisting customers and internal partners with Gear Guard, gift cards, and other marketing programs as assignedWorks with cross functional teams to develop creative and copy to support projects, oversee communication plan to customers and integration with brand management strategies.Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external partners through regular, proactive communication. Coordinate and execute training on projects.Coordinate retail store communication and direction for internal Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s locations.   Assist Customer Service Outfitters on deactivating gift cards for customer service issues. Works with 3rd parties to help schedule and implement in-store training offered to customers.Demonstrates customer service skillsAssists Program Manager in the continued growth of the Gear Guard and gift card programs.Plan, schedule, and implement creative in-store incentives.Coordinate with inventory accounting on store gift card levels and corrections when necessary. Assist with weekly and monthly marketing program reporting. Maintain marketing calendar for 3rd party gift card promotions and enter results of promotions. Assist with placing any internal gift card orders as needed. ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferredExperience:   1-3 years’ experience in marketing, gift cards, warranty programs, sales, or production role required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Interest or passion for the outdoors, knowledgeable about aspects of the sports of angling and hunting/shootingDemonstrated knowledge of the marketing and advertising landscapeAbility to manage multiple tasks and stay organizedDetail-oriented and strong ability to maintain quality documentation of processes and proceduresExcellent communication skills and build relationships internally and externally with key stakeholdersStrong understanding of relevant communication channels and platformsProficient in Microsoft Suite

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:   Minimal travel involved: 5 – 10%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly performs computer work and sits.

Occasionally walks and stands.

Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
