Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for referral development to increase and maintain hospital census through one-to-one contacts and group presentations with community referral sources. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in mental health discipline, business or marketing. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of outside sales experience, with full responsibility for generating own customers/contacts, required. Sales experience should be in selling services to physicians, businesses or social service agencies preferred. At least one year of clinical experience in a community health agency. Experience in developing advertising/marketing/public relations campaigns. Other knowledge/skills: Computer skills to include: knowledge of spreadsheets, software and word processing. Able to communicate effectively and appropriately. Must have valid drivers license and proof of valid insurance. Physical Demands: (See Job Demand Profile attached) RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Director of Marketing and Business Development Supervises: None Internal Relationships: All Pavilion staff and medical staff External Relationships: Customers, patients, physicians, and other referral sources Qualifications ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Meets with referral sources to promote using the facility when needing to place clients in a psychiatric hospital. Works independently with the sources and makes business decisions to adequately meet the requests of the referring agency. Recommends referrals to the hospitals programs or to outside professionals in the community. Demonstrates knowledge of managed care concepts and contracts. Demonstrates knowledge of hospital admission process for inpatient, outpatient and partial programs. Acquires current knowledge of competition and other care providers. Demonstrates ability to work with the public (i.e., one-to-one contacts, group presentations, etc.). Documents accurate and efficient reports of sales calls, census, etc. Participates in coordination, planning and implementation of hospital based workshops and other events. Participates in strategic planning. Represents the service-oriented image of the hospital to the community. Performs work directly related to the management or general business operations of The Pavilion. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to business development matters of significance. Responsible for maintaining car for travel. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Projects a positive image of The Pavilion by being courteous, helpful, friendly, and professional in relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers. Assures compliance with federal, state, and organizational confidentiality regulations. Responds to a “support code” in a therapeutic, appropriate manner as prescribed in the annual TCI in-service. Maintains CPR and TCI certification, as well as OSHA annual in-service requirement. Performs other duties as assigned.
