SUMMARY:

This position works on a team and is responsible for marketing new business accounts and carrier placement strategy. This role negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carrier partners, maintains knowledge of markets necessary to place business and explores new markets for the agency and assists with the carrier selection process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages placement of new and renewal, large commercial lines business ** Marine/Oil & Gas Experience preferred **Obtains necessary information from producers, account executives and account managers for submissionsObtains quotes and conducts negotiations with carriersPrepares proposals and presentations for producers and account executives to present to clientsProvides expertise to agency staff concerning markets and specific accountsMaintains carrier relationships, explores new markets, and assists in evaluation of carrier relationships and introduction of new carriersWorks closely with producers, account executives, account managers, and other members of the marketing team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 3-5+ years of commercial insurance experienceExcellent analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skillsMust be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal English communications skillsAbility or adaptability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentKnowledge of agency management systems (Epic experience a plus)Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

EDUCATION, LICENSING OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Risk Management and Insurance, Accounting, or Finance preferred but not requiredProperty & Casualty License or willingness to obtain license upon hire

Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
