SummaryThe Customer Market Insights department is responsible for creating Customer knowledge by providing actionable and relevant insights that shape general Customer understanding throughout the organization, influencing merchant and marketing activities as well as the overall BBW brand/Customer strategy. This team evaluates competitive and market trends using external resources such as IRI, tracking the brand’s equity and perceptions in the market (brand tracker), evaluating primary research (e.g. surveys) and analyzing customer metrics from BBW’s internal transactional database.
This role is primarily responsible for supporting primary and secondary research projects that convert business questions into useful insights through the unbiased voice of the Customer. This is accomplished through owning projects from beginning to end, from understanding business needs, designing a research plan, implementing, and analyzing, to presentation of findings and recommended actions.
Responsibilities Support market research projects, including design, execution, analysis, writing, and presentation of data. Projects may include focus groups, in-store customer interviews, online surveys and qualitative/quantitative, which can take place at the Home Office, a facility, or in stores. This requires directly interviewing customers and associates. Manage an online panel of customers, that included responsibilities of managing and maintaining a group of individuals, recruited online, who are willing to participate in market research surveys, focus groups, or other studies in exchange for incentives. Acting as a middle ground between businesses seeking consumer insights and Bath & Body Works customers, ensuring data quality and participant engagement through recruitment, screening, and panel management strategies. Key responsibility of writing high-level and detailed reports for research projects. Gain intimate knowledge of BBW business categories by developing key internal and external partner relationships. Support relationships with external research vendors on ongoing research efforts. QualificationsQualifications & Experience 1-2 years of experience in a retail market research/consumer insights role Validated experience with research methodology (both quantitative and qualitive) including product and concept testing preferred. Analytic skills with the ability to summarize large raw datasets in Excel and well as spoken/written, open-ended feedback to quickly understand key themes. Ability to quickly synthesize and articulate information from various sources with an emphasis on storytelling. Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey programming tools required Strong interpersonal and communication skills, specifically with Customers. Rigorous attention to detail. Experience managing and utilizing data from Customer Panels a plus. Understanding of research methodology for packaged goods development in the retail industry is a plus.
