This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.



Department Description:


The Brand Marketing team creates preference for and willingness to consider Kaiser Permanente-as the choice for care and coverage by developing materials and messages via paid advertising media channels. The Marketing Competitive Insights team informs marketing strategy by sharing insights about our competitive landscape and competitor marketing activities.



Intern Project(s):


The Marketing Strategy intern will take the lead on a research project that will support a current marketing priority, helping to inform marketing strategy by sharing insights about our competitive environment. For example, 2024’s intern conducted an assessment of disruptor competitors as well as an assessment of competitor centers of excellence for specialty care. 2025’s topic is TBD depending on 2025 marketing priorities, though may include an analysis of messaging themes in current competitor ad campaigns, analysis of competitor brand value propositions, and/or marketing communications about a specific message (e.g., integrated care) or targeting a specific audience segment.

Target Skills:


A Marketing Strategy intern should have strong analytical and time management skills, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity.  He/she/they should be self-motivated, organized, and able to connect the dots between detailed information and the bigger picture. Rising senior undergraduate intern preferred. The project can be made more or less challenging depending on the intern's experience.

Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
Job shadowing in other functional areas.

Pursuing a bachelors degree or have graduated from an accredited university within the last year.High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration N/A Additional Requirements:
Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutionsWorking knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications:
3.0 GPA or above.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
