Responsibilities

The Massage Therapist performs the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments) to enhance health and well-being. The Massage Therapist assists in the development, management and marketing the Massage program, working across departments to bring the benefits of massage therapy to in-patients, out-patients and members of the community. The Massage Therapist may participate in critical study, research or program development as defined by program objectives.

Limited Tenure position - 12 months



Qualifications

At least 600 hours of massage school training
Knowledge of scope of practice related to massage 
Clear, concise documentation 
Dependable, cooperative, and flexible 
Self-motivated
Time management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Critical thinking and attention to detail
Conflict management skills
Willingness to speak promptly if there is a problem with a fellow employee
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge and sensitivity to diversity as it relates to culture, age, socioeconomic status, gender, and psychosocial abilities
Knowledge of departmental policy and standards related to Integrative Healing Arts
Preferred: 1 year
May be required to work weekends or overtime.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.

License: Massage Therapy License with the city of Austin, MN; Valid Driver's license

$29.21 - $43.87/hour; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
