The buildings, rendered with natural materials and iconic angular silhouettes, are the work of master architect Homer A. Rissman. Set on a 10-acre campus, it is an incomparable property for both its city access and sense of complete retreat. Overview Position Overview: The Spa at Flamingo seeks a skilled and experienced Massage Trainer to lead and enhance the training and development of our massage therapy team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of service and professionalism by educating staff on advanced massage techniques, anatomy, physiology, and industry best practices, along with protocol development for new menu of services as needed. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of massage therapy, and exceptional organizational and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Develop and Implement Training Programs: Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training programs for massage therapists to enhance their skills and knowledge. Teach Massage Techniques: Educate team members on various massage modalities, body mechanics, and therapeutic approaches tailored to individual client needs. Focus on Anatomy and Physiology: Provide in-depth instruction on the anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology essential for effective massage therapy. Performance Assessment: Assess trainees' performance during and after training sessions, offering constructive feedback and personalized guidance to ensure improvement and mastery. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, new techniques, and regulatory requirements to incorporate the latest practices into training programs. Maintain Standards: Ensure trainees adhere to spa standards, safety protocols, and ethical guidelines in all massage treatments. Provide Guidance: Act as a mentor and resource for team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Qualifications and Skills: Educational Background: Certification or licensure in massage therapy, with additional credentials in training or teaching preferred, and/or advance massage techniques course work. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a massage therapist, including at least 2 years in a training or instructional role. Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and various massage modalities. Teaching Ability: Proven ability to effectively teach massage techniques, with strong communication and listening skills to meet trainees' needs. Organizational Skills: Excellent planning and organizational abilities to manage training schedules and ensure all topics are covered thoroughly. Computer Savvy: Ability to create protocols and spreadsheets in WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, CANVA and use of AI, as needed. Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to motivate and inspire others, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment. Qualifications PREREQUISITE: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of massage therapy and must maintain a current state license. Must also have a current state license for the state in which the property is located . Minimum of one year of experience required. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $30.00/Hr. - $30.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
