Faculty Rank or Job Title Master's of Public Health (MPH) Program Coordinator Job Category: Administrative (exempt/non-exempt) Department Dept of Population & Public Health Sciences EEO number: 24P226 Position FTE 100% Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate $50,000 Salary Band: S04 Job Summary/Basic Function: To serve as the primary point of contact for the Master of Public Health program by coordinating the admissions and student advising, data management, and accreditation reporting and to also serve as the coordinator for the newly created Medical Scholars Program. To coordinate data management for annual reporting, faculty/adjunct credentialing for department faculty appointments, and Graduate Faculty memberships. To manage the day-to-day operations of the department’s Education Center by managing coordination of the classrooms, equipment, and facilities. Minimum Qualifications A Master’s degree and one year of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience in education, public health, or a related field. Proficient in MS Office and database management. Professional writing, document editing, and the ability to create accurate progress reports. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple diverse projects at the same time and to work autonomously. Experience working with diverse student populations. Attention to detail in customer services, records management, and other work products. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in public health, education, student advising, or related field. Experience with academic program accreditation. Experience with university computer systems i.e. BANNER Admin, EAB-Navigate, Pilot, Slate. Experience developing and monitoring academic program outcomes. Experience working with any of the following: higher education admissions, adult learners, college students, and faculty. Essential Functions and percent of time: 40% Master of Public Health Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current graduate students of the program. Grow the program by providing timely, consistent, and student-specific communication and follow-up, and serve as liaison to faculty and university services. Manage student applications submitted in relevant systems such as SOPHAS and Slate. Correspond with applicants throughout the entire admissions process. Liaison with the MPH Admissions Committee to ensure timely turnaround on applications under review. Collaborate with central admissions units to ensure adherence to procedures. Serve as liaison with the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine for residency in aerospace medicine (RAM) students. Oversee the department scholarship programs (Boonshoft Workforce Development Scholarship, PLDP, and MPH Program) and administer the Graduate Tuition Scholarship. Develop, monitor, and advise MPH students on a program of study to ensure timely graduation. Manage elective, transfer, and PLA credit approvals for MPH students. Plan, organize, and attend MPH program events, i.e., new student orientation, Delta Omega awardee luncheon, days of service, MPH capstone ceremony, and PPHS graduation ceremony. Coordinate alumni and local industry interactions. Hire and supervise MPH graduate assistants. Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): 15% Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM) Medical Scholars Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current undergraduate students interested in the Medical Scholars program. Grow the program by providing timely, consistent, and student-specific communication, follow-up, and serve as liaison to faculty and university services. Maintain student database and monitor student progress and program eligibility. Coordinate collaborative administrative efforts with staff from Students Affairs, Admissions, Center for Health Professions, and other colleges. Organize and participate in recruitment efforts related to the Medical Scholars program. Coordinate and communicate professional development and career exploration programs. Prepare written reports, assist in webpage updates and other communications material development, and serve on the department curriculum committee. Collaborate with Admissions to determine student eligibility for application and interviews. Recommend communications and marketing plans to support student recruitment, enrollment, and retention for the program.


35% Data & Office Management Monitor and evaluate the accreditation criteria required by the Council on Education for Public Health, as well as the University’s accreditation. Maintain graduate alumni and student Access database for accreditation reporting. Manage graduate student registrations and enrollment through the Access database. Coordinate data gathering and reporting for MPH accreditation, including course evaluations, capstone completions, and relevant surveys. Input updates/additions to graduate program in Curriculog. Review and update department web pages as needed. Collect, review, and archive course syllabi. Manage the department’s course schedules and serve as the department’s point of contact with the Registrar. Manage department listserves, including groups for faculty, students, alumni, job postings, & Delta Omega. Coordinate the department’s annual reporting, i.e., department’s annual report, university’s program assessment report, department faculty workload. Record and document minutes for faculty and curriculum meetings. Coordinate the department’s adjunct hiring process. Monitor student enrollment and tuition revenue to assist with budget projections. Coordinate appointments and credentialing for fully affiliated and partially affiliated faculty. Assist with recruitment efforts, including hosting virtual open houses and serving as liaison with Marketing and Graduate School. Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: 5% Facilities Management Coordinate department’s classroom scheduling. Coordinate equipment needs and equipment troubleshooting for the Education Center. Serve as liaison with property management for facility issues. Order supplies.

5% Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions The candidate must attend occasional evening and weekend events, recruiting and advising students.
