Position Summary and Purpose: Perform all wiring and testing of circuits and electrical components and equipment on all products. Configure electrical/electronic subsystems using various types of software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL:
+ Receive work assignment and instructions; secure and use drawings, records and wiring diagrams to plan and lay out wiring to locate electrical fixtures, controls and devices, and to ascertain size of wires, cables and conduit, for all types of machine tools
+ Lay out, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit as required
+ Drill, ream and tap holes to obtain means for fastening pipe, fixtures, braces, stands, etc. to products; may use overhead crane or hoist as required
+ Position and mount electrical equipment, fixtures, cabinets, pipe braces, stands, etc. to products manually or with crane or hoist
+ Lay out work for welder where needed
+ Lay out, measure and cut wires and cables to required lengths; run wire through conduits and make all necessary connections to motors, generators, control panels, fixtures, switches, etc. to complete circuits as specified
+ Skin wires, crimp and solder terminal to ends; cable wires as necessary for safety and appearance; attach identification tags as required
+ Test operation of all electrical devices such as relays, contacts, controls, etc. and adjusts as necessary for proper functioning
+ Wire and test back gauge operation
+ Test wiring and operation of electrical equipment, taking necessary readings of speeds, diagnosing troubles, and making necessary adjustments as required
+ Work with high and low voltage current; keep records of material specifications to facilitate work
+ Wire and check panels, controls, returned equipment and repair orders
+ Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures
+ Demonstrated ability to safely rig, lift, and move all CI products or components
+ Act as temporary Lead-Person when needed
+ May perform secondary, non-production, tasks such as expediting, rework, and engineering liaison to help for DFMA
+ Working knowledge of, and ability to lead Operational Excellence events
Education and Experience:
REQUIRED:
+ High school diploma or equivalency
+ 2 - 3 years work experience with machine wiring
Valued But Not Required:
+ Trade school certificate or 2 yr. technical degree in electronics field
+ Mechanical background
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.
REQUIRED:
+ High degree of electrical and mechanical aptitude and diagnostic capability
+ Ability to plan and perform non-repetitive and complex work involving ingenuity and judgment
+ Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics; read and interpret hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
+ Excellent math skills and understanding of basic concepts
+ Demonstrated manual dexterity and accuracy
+ Ability to successfully work in a team environment
+ PC and Windows knowledge and experience

+ 2 yr. Electronics Engineering or similar degree; or equivalent military training and experience
+ 5 yrs. Previous work experience in similar field
+ Be a step 5 at your current classification
+ Attended CI operator & maintenance training for your specific product line
+ Participated in the complete installation of a machine from your specific product line
+ Leadership Skills: Ability to successfully assign tasks to co-workers, successfully motivate peers to accomplish daily goals
+ Excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude
Tools, Technology and Equipment Used: Remote overhead crane, electrician’s hand tools, electrical measuring and testing tools and instruments such as digital multimeter, interferometer and feeler gauge, soldering equipment, lug pressing tool, conduit bending and threading machines, hydraulic hole punch, drill press, hand and power hacksaw

Physical demands: This position is very active and requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing of ladders. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, to reach with hands and arms, to climb or balance, to talk and hear; must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
