Role Overview and Responsibilities

Introduction

The Master Scheduler will coordinates daily with Production Managers and Production Leads to validate, prioritize, and or modify production schedules, and to resolve issues affecting schedule adherence, and customer service level performance. This position is responsible for analyzing capacity constraints in each value stream and creating monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual master schedules for each value stream. This position will work with multiple cross-functional teams, (Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering and Quality) to achieve both tactical and strategic goals assigned by fully understanding production demand and supply needs. The role is responsible for researching, setting, and managing the accuracy of appropriate MRP planning parameters, and all planning data in ERP System to optimize and simplify the planning process while maximizing resources. This position is also the primary point of contact for all Sales department inquiries and issues and is responsible for working with manufacturing to ensure accurate and timely order status information is provided.

 

Key Responsibilities

Reviews and provides input to the master schedule via customer requirements, customer orders and forecast data.Verifies material availability with Purchasing and responds to material shortages and develops and communicates new ship dates to Sales and Production Management.Reviews customer forecasts to develop and maintain approved forecast/planning parameters in ERP system to support customer agreements and company objectives. Identifies material and manpower constraints for expedited jobs and works with appropriate department managers to resolve.Edits jobs to accommodate non-standard production, re-work and ECO/Deviations. Maintains job codes to indicate confirmed jobs and jobs with material shortages.Key player in S&OP or SIOP processMonitor and report key KPI’s for master schedule performance and schedule adherenceLead the coordination with manufacturing and Sales departments to analyze schedule to support schedule requirements.Schedules complex jobs for a series of assemblies with part to part interactions to obtain a valid build plan to meet customer requirements.Other duties as required and/or assigned. Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Understanding of lean principles.Strong orientation towards documentation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with ERP software is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.Excellent knowledge of Excel and Microsoft suite. Knowledge of pivots, V-lookups, charts, and other excel filtering tools.Highly analytical: critical thinker; strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail; due to the speed and rate of change occurring in this manufacturing environment, must be able to problem-solve and think independently.Excellent understanding of S&OP, inventory management, master scheduling, capacity planning, & materials replenishment methodologies.

 

Desireable Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or related field.Five or more years experience in related role in a manufacturing environment.Two or more years experience scheduling multiple production lines. Previous Aerospace manufacturing experience highly desirable.This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
