McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time Master Scheduler on the FMC Materials Management Team. This new hire will work at the FMC, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Master Scheduler will report to the Materials Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the incumbent will plan and schedule short- and long-range intermediate and finished goods materials to support the Dry Blend and Flavors business at the FMC. 

This position is responsible for working with the Scheduler and Planning groups to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained to meet our service strategies. The role will also be responsible for representing the FMC Materials Management group in many cross-functional meetings with McCormick business stakeholders. The Master Scheduler troubleshoots master data issues, support both short-term and long-term planning horizons and effectively communicates with all teams. They will also responsible to support supply planning to balance inventory with customer service and plant cost.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with Materials Management Scheduling/Planning teams to ensure intermediates and finished goods are scheduled to meet demand, and shares accountability for production reliability of the lines Demonstrates the ability to sequence with efficiency in mind to reduce set ups within the week. Attend daily Production Meetings and participate on project-based teams. Troubleshoot master data issues within and between McCormick facilities, make data change recommendations and test data change scenarios. Monitor schedule adherence/attainment and work cross functionally to drive process improvements to increase operational efficiencies Work with GDA to implement recipe changes needed to drive efficiency Proactively identifies complex problems/trending issues and drive resolution through root cause analysis. Review groups' recommended mix/ set-up changes for overall capacity and crewing impact Support cross functional team to identify capacity constraint and effectively communicate to Supply Planning and Commercialization team. Ability to train others in Scheduling processes as required Act as department super user and will be responsible for testing all new functionality and process improvements Demonstrate the ability to understand the skill needs of the team and develop/maintain a team skills matrix. Design a training plan for the team to build capability. Must have a detailed understanding of the difference between Make to Order (MTO) vs Make to Stock (MTS) business and how it effects customer service results  Work collaboratively with Supply Planning to re-evaluate customer forecasts and consumption/reduction issues that may impact customer service and inventory levels  Works with purchasing to coordinate material availability, maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet service objectives, while managing rework, safety stocks, inventory turns. Represent the Materials Management function internally and inter-divisionally to include SAP upgrades and makes recommendations as appropriate. Manage master data to support business practices.  Initiate and submit the following reports: MMDCRS, NPC, Cancel / Supersedes, and Change Notices, etc.  run and interpret existing production reports in SAP/APO/BW. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, related field, or 7 plus years of McCormick scheduling experience Minimum two years of supply planning/scheduling experience using integrated SAP MRP system.  Proficient with Microsoft Office Ability to prepare detailed reports and analyze data.  Demonstrates professional communication skills written and verbal with all levels of employees both internally and externally. Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment, and identify/resolve complex issues with little support or guidance Experience working collaboratively in a team-based environment Ability to exercise good judgment in high pressure, sensitive situations

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

SAP/APO inventory management systems experience 3+ years of experience working on cross-functional projects APICS CSCP or CPIM certified

Base Salary: $62,090 - $108,600

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
