Position Summary:

Support Program Management on complex projects that require original thinking and new approaches. Organize and direct work, coordinate efforts related to design, development, and maintenance of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and report on project milestone status.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Principles: Apply principle of project management developing large complex schedules through team interactions.Project Team Support: Provide assistance to program/project teams to organize and facilitate project planning activities.Program Schedule Analysis: Perform program schedule analysis to include: Metrics, Critical Path, Float, and schedule variances.Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS): Build and maintains a program-level IMS which includes major milestones and deliverables from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Government sources.Vender Schedule Monitoring: Monitor vendor schedule performance to include weekly and monthly variances.Project Management Technique Utilization: Utilize Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.Process Improvement: Identify process improvements and develop action items; monitors and ensures the completion of such action items.Attend Meetings: Attend required Program and vendor meetings to include: Cost Performance Reporting, Schedule Meetings, and Program Management Reviews.Subject Matter Expert: Act as scheduling subject expert and mentors the program staff with regards to scheduling.Enterprise-level Knowledge: Understand and has facility with enterprise-level scheduling software.Propose Processes: Propose processes that will aid Integrated Scheduling and understands the impacts of any changes to deliver full capability to the project within projected schedule.Report IPMR Compliance: Support development and submittal of a compliant Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) Format 6 and Format 5 (IMS Discussion)Procedural Compliance: Ensures compliance with internal program procedures as well as PCS (Project Control Systems) guidelines and IMS DID (Integrated Master Schedule Data Item Description).Analysis: Responsible for detailed schedule analysis of network logic and critical pathTeam Collaboration: Works with Program Teams to resolve critical path and network conflicts.Perform Scenarios: Performs "what if" scenarios for individual program management teamsEnsure Management Understanding: Ensures management understanding of network logic, Gantt, milestone lists, and resource information in the schedule.Program Scheduling Procedures: Develop and maintain scheduling procedures for assigned programsCustomer Cost and Budget Support: Support customer cost and budget tracking of multiple lines of effortMiscellaneous: Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Program Management, Business, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field or 6+ years of experience in program planning and control and/or scheduling work ORMicrosoft Project: Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Project.Experience: Experience in a DOD (Department of Defense) environmentTravel: Able to travel on occasion to various sites when neededCollaboration Skills: Ability to work within a team and foster trust and informed risk-taking.Leadership Abilities: Self-motivated and proactive leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsCommunication Skills: Effective interdepartmental communications skillsIndustry Knowledge: Knowledge of scheduling best practice industry standards Planning & Scheduling Excellence Guide (PASEG), and the Generally Accepted Scheduling Principles (GASP)Resource Planning Software: Experience with Deltek Cost PointAgility: Experience in a fast-paced environment

Desired:

Clearance: Active TS/SCI preferred.Education: Master’s Degree in Program Management, Business, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of experience in program planning and control and/or scheduling work
