Job Scope
The Master Scheduler/Sr Buyer-Planner ensures efficient production scheduling and resource allocation across multiple factory value streams. Works closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain robust supply sourcing schedules inclusive of make-buy decisions to define the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and External Sourcing Plan (ESP) with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) that align to customer demand while minimizing costs and maximizing production utilization and efficiency. Operates effectively in SAP IBP to define the supply plan and within SAP PPDS to translate it to the MPS and ESP. Monitors progress and adherence to the MPS and ESP to address any issues.
Responsibilities
Production Planning: Develop and maintain production plans and schedules across the appropriate horizons using SAP IBP and SAP PPDS, taking into account Customer Demand, Inventory Levels and Production Capacity.Resource Allocation: Coordinate and allocate production resources such as equipment, labor, and materials to optimize production schedules and meet delivery commitments. Maintain accurate assumptions for all capacity-planned resources within SAP IBP.Demand Synchronization: Collaborate with Demand Planning Teams to integrate the monthly unconstrained Consensus Demand Plan into the Supply Planning process within the SAP IBP tool.Exception Management: Resolve system exception messages, such as expedites, de-expedites & cancel messages, across the planning horizon via re-sequencing of items in the MPS and/or ESP to address unforeseen changes in Resource availability or Abnormal Customer Demand.Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and avoiding excess & obsolescence.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in production planning and scheduling using SAP IBP and SAP PPDS.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, contract manufacturers, logistics, quality, and manufacturing engineering, to align production and purchase plans with overall business objectives.Performance Metrics: Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to production scheduling and procurement, such as On Time Delivery, Plan Adherence, Resource Utilization, and Master Schedule Quality.SAP Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP IBP and SAP PPDS developments, ensuring that the company’s systems are optimized for efficiency.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply and Logistics or related field with at least 2+ years of experience in a production scheduling role or 7+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment. Master’s degree is a plus.Proven experience as a Master Scheduler. SAP IBP and SAP PPDS or APO experience is preferred.In-depth knowledge of production planning, scheduling and inventory management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient with all Microsoft Office software (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook).Ability to manage complex projects, tasks, and small work teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand and complete all paperwork.Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
