Master Scheduling Supervisor

Scope of leadership role

This role will report directly to the plant Materials Manager and will be directly responsible for leading the Production Control/Scheduling team consisting of an Order Coordinator & a Production Control Coordinator. This role will serve as a production subject matter expert and will be a key player in cross functional projects.

  

Essential Responsibilities

Manages daily/weekly/monthly build schedule to ensure customer Requests Kept (RK)/Promises Kept (PK) is met.Develops and executes on time delivery, inventory turns, and inventory control, adherence to production plans, cost improvements and ensures continued employee growth through development.Assist with creation of, and own maintenance of robust capacity planning models. Utilize models to ensure planning to available capacity, identify upcoming spikes, and level loading as neededCollaborates with planners, suppliers, and Customer Service to drive RK/PK improvements.Identify and resolve any production issues or delaysCoordinates requests for rush orders and expected delays in materials and purchased parts so that the shortest possible delay occurs for customersSolve a variety of problems that may arise, including but not limited to, rejected parts, purchased parts availability, capacity and throughput constraints, and change in customer demands and service levels.Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure production plans align with overall business goalsCoordinate with procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials Monitor inventory levels to prevent excess or shortage situationsImplement lean manufacturing principles to increase efficiency and reduce waste Identify and implement cost saving measures in production planning and inventory managementGenerate and present production reports to management team Analyze production data to identify trends and make data driven decisions Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for production planning and inventory managementCollaborates with IT, RBS, and others as needed to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in systemsReviews and manages safety stock levels on internal and external parts.Ensures item data is updated to support the appropriate safety stock/kanban levels that are needed.Collaborates with cross functional teams to drive and expedite planned builds with corrective action analysis on expedites to reduce/eliminate the need for expedites in the future.Determines kanban/safety stock inventory levels both internally and externally striving for minimum exposure for inventory goals,  obsolescence, and Quality Assurance (QA) hold exposure.Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred. 5+ years of related experience.5+ years’ experience in a people management role.

Physical Requirements

Lifting up to a maximum of 35 lbs.Occasional bending and lifting at the knees.Sitting frequently at waist and shoulder levels.Frequent reaching out in front of body.Standing and walking intermittently.Capable of wearing safety glasses with permanent side shields when on shop floor.Capable of wearing steel-toed safety shoes when on shop floor.Capable of wearing other PPE as required.Continuous mental/visual attention.
