Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Master Systems / Switchgear Techs for projects located in and around the Chesapeake, VA area. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $35/hour based on experience & skill level. Job Scope:
Troubleshoot & resolve technical problems in shop & field Troubleshoot, repair, & test power distribution equipment Other tasks as assigned Requirements Understanding and knowledge of NETA standards IEEE specifications and NEMA specifications as they pertain to low and medium voltage switchgearGood technical understanding and application of all types of switchgear protective relaying and controls of switchgear including the operation maintenance and testing Handson experience on low and medium voltage switchgear including disassembly component inspection/repair reassembly and testingMust have valid drivers license good driving record and able to pass medical physicalMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to stand/walk for extended periods and able to climb/work at heightsMust pass background checkHigh School diploma or equalHigher education such as vocation training, technical trade school AVO Substation Maintenance Relay Testing etc. Or college degree is preferredNETA or NICET Level 14 Electrical Power Testing Certifications are preferredPrevious experience in power distribution industryMust have excellent organizational written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work with others in a team environmentAbility to communicate professionally with customers vendors etcSignificant travel to customer sites requiredCapable of multitasking with no supervisionGood computer skills with basic programs such as Word Excel and EmailMaintain safe working conditions for all personnelCommitted self-motivated and innovative Company DetailsTradesmen International not only offers consistent work, top pay, and employment opportunities, we also provide a benefits package that is among the best in the industry.
