Our canine group, under Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring a Master Trainer. The Master Trainer is responsible for supervising all initial training, testing, and validation of canines for the canine program at the Global Canine Services Center (GCSC).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Selection and placement of Canine Training Specialist personnel; direct workload, initiate and encourage career development; coach, mentor, as well as oversee/review canine performance recommendations made by team membersSupervise initial training, testing, validation of canines to validate proper olfactory capabilities, behavior suitability, and physical traits for entrance into canine programsOversee all stages of canine training, to include but not limited to initial canine selection, initial imprint training, maintenance training, obedience training, and environmental testingCollect and maintain accurate records relating to the imprinting and training of canines Maintain the day-to-day health and welfare of assigned caninesMaintain all assigned canine-related equipmentPerform basic canine emergency first-aid as neededTrain canines in all aspects of explosive detection, including but not limited to, initial imprint training and operational environmental testingOversee the training of canines in proper search patterns to locate explosives, including but not limited to, in cardboard boxes, cargo, luggage, vehicles, buildings, outdoor / indoor open areas, and warehousesTrain assigned Canine Training Specialists on approved GCSC training techniques and procedures, and ensure adherence to the same; develop training and guidance material with the intent to improve performance and quality of servicePlan, coordinate and over see the execution of the GCSC courses as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a US Citizen (pursuant to government clearance requirements)Possess, or be able to obtain a United States PassportPossess a valid US Driver’s License, if driving a company- or customer-owned vehiclePossess, or be able to obtain, a minimum of a Secret level security clearancePossess a North American Police Working Dog Association (NAPWDA) certification, or national / state / provincial military or law enforcement certification as a working dog trainer, or commercial equivalent approved by the CORHigh School diploma or equivalentMinimum of five (5) years’ experience performing as a military, law enforcement, or commercial security canine trainer (This experience must have been earned, in part, with the last seven (7) years from the date the BIO is submitted.)Work experience demonstrating the ability to evaluate and assess various canine breads, including but not limited to German Shepard, Belgian Malinois, and Labrador Retriever breeds to become explosives detection caninesAble to train in passive response and positive reinforcement methodsComputer skills and knowledge of the use of Microsoft Word and Excel programsAbove average communication skills, both written and orallyWorking knowledge of all canine breedsWorking knowledge of Operant Conditioning and Classical ConditioningWorking knowledge of high and low explosives and safe handling proceduresAbility to recognize canine change of behaviorAbility to travel when needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat ZoneCompletion of a full military handler courseBachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studiesEight (8) or more years of service in any military branch
