Set up and operates all equipment in the Mld Rubber Press Rm. Relieves other workers, substitutes for them during absences and performs extra work whenever needed. Assists new or inexperienced operators in the performance of job functions. Performs service functions for the press room, which includes retrieving blanks and extrusion from supply areas, the staging of incoming materials, and keeps the press lines supplied with product to mold. Issues molds, materials and accessory equipment to press operators. Cooperates and provides supervisor with information on press capacities, mold changes and molding problems related to order completion. Performs duties that include, but are not limited to, the following: transporting molds from press lines to cleaning area, disassembling molds, loading mold sections into cleaning machinery, activating controls, cycling molds through units or manually cleaning molds with handheld shot blast apparatus, unloading molds from cleaning units, reassembling molds, and sending molds back to storage or press lines. Works with Press Operators to assure that dirty molds are properly pulled out of service for cleaning and properly returned to lines for resumption of production on a timely basis. Gives special attention when molds are reassembled after cleaning to assure correct alignment of all cavities, plates and pins. Sets press cure cycles, adjusts bumping mechanisms, press temperatures and pressure. Informs Supervisor of molds that do not have full utilization and those requiring major repair. Checks in all new molds, assigns storage location, stamps identification numbers on molds, changes plug dates and maintains mold files. Installs strip molds in Robas press and large molds in wood press area. Connects and disconnects steam lines when changing steam core molds. Adjusts and operates automatic spray equipment and uses hand spray with specified types of bonding agent. Applies various applications of bonding agents in a first coat, then second coat sequence. Applications of bonding agent must be applied evenly so as to assure proper rubber bonding after product transfers to Press Room. Maintains mixed batches of bonding agent through the use of air powered mixers Assures quality of bonding agent mixes by performing routine tests on batches. Keeps abreast of press line molding schedules so as to maintain an available supply of coated parts of desired style and size at all times. Maintains spray booth and surrounding area in clean condition, which include the changing of straw filters in booth and the cleaning and repairing of spray guns.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keeps work area clean. Grinds and puts tips on air hoses. Drives tow motor. EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Proficiency in the set up operation of various equipment. A knowledge of the styles and types of stocks and an understanding work routines and performance standards of the jobs.

MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED: 30 lbs. (anything over 30# requires two people or mechanical device)

These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position is typically $22.17 - $23.48 hourly. Actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
