Duration: approx. 6 months
Customer Services is a global organisation in charge of all after sales activities for Airbus Cabin Electronics and KID Systeme. We support all Airbus aircraft fleets and our products are installed in every Airbus aircraft.
We are responsible for performing repair services of electronic components, spare parts sales and distribution, technical documents, publications and technical support, customer training, managing a global network of repair stations, pricing, credit management and commercial agreements.
In the frame of this study/thesis you will support and get a deep insight into the world of automatic test equipment (ATE). Our in-house test equipment is used to verify the proper function of our cabin electronic components after production and maintenance events.
We are a multifunctional team consisting of experts from several departments (Customer Services, Engineering and Operations). We are responsible for the entire product life cycle: definition, development, evolution, obsolescence, decommissioning, etc. and the product business value creation. We manage all test equipment required for future and existing products.

Your tasks and responsibilitiesSupporting the definition of test equipment concepts for our new Future Cabin Management System (FCMS)
Identification and comparison of product requirements
Finding synergies between test environments for Production and Maintenance / Repair, creating different test concepts and performing a value analysis and recommendation
Defining the grade of automatization of test procedures under consideration of test times, expected number of repairs and the additional development efforts related to a higher degree of automatization
Screening industry standards and evaluating the applicability together with our Engineering development experts
Supporting the evaluation of potential test equipment suppliers
Your expected deliverablesEvaluated concepts of Automatic Test Equipment (supported by experts) for FCMS
Business requirements will be provided by our experts (not a deliverable)
Documentation and archiving of all activities associated with your tasks: user guides, archived documents, management of changes, workflows definition, etc.
Handover and training to the team for further maintenance and use of the solutions you develop
The scope of the master thesis can be refined to suit the needs of your study program.
Desired skills and qualificationsEnrolled full-time student (d/f/m) within production / manufacturing / industrial engineering/ electronics, aircraft systems engineering or similar field of study
Good communication skills
Team worker
Analytical thinking and able to deal with complexity
Problem solving mentality
Interest in aviation, customer services, electronics and/or industrial operations
Basic coding skills in any of the following: Google App Script, Python, Java, SQL…
Language Skills: English (fluent) and German (preferred)
