Material Control Specialist, Senior
Overview The Material Control Specialist, Senior will be based in Jacksonville, Florida to support our Supply Chain activity in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Reports to the Logistics Supervisor. This position has a major impact on expenditures and service delivery. Responsibilities Monitors and maintains purchasing orders as required; tracks orders and investigates problems & discrepancies. Prepare, design, reconcile, and maintain discrepancy, receiving, shipping, and related reports. Coordinates accurate and timely processing of orders for customers in the program. Ensure that items received accurately reflect the corresponding purchase order (PO) lines. Coordinate with Buyers to resolve discrepancies. Records receipt of purchases in Maximo using inventory data and delivery notes from freight forwarder Oversee and/or perform receipt, inspection, unpacking, and delivery of ordered goods- have the experience and ability to decide and process the best mode of shipment based on requirement and urgency. Processes invoices for payment of received goods. Processes and document returns’ as required following established procedures. Deliver parts to the aerial port as necessary or directed. Performs routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering telephones, and assisting customers. May lead, guide, and train employees, as appropriate to the area of operation. Communicate with the Program receiving team both verbally and through records and reports. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Logistics Supervisor. May coordinate & approve vendor delivery schedule associated including pick-ups. Support with maintenance of logistics policies & procedures. Manage and monitor the performance of subcontractor, scheduling, and planning. Must maintain a current, thorough and working knowledge of the Government Regulations to include FAR, and DFARS, the V2X Material Management Plan (MMP), Property Management Plan (PMP), the Material Managenent Accounting System (MMAS), and the Corporate Procurement Manual Parts 1 & 2. Accurately manages the receiving status in the Receiving Holding Storerooms in the various Program database and prepare period reports and communicate the status with the Programs Responsible for tracking materiel inbound and outbound, using Maximo, IFS, and Oracle freight software. Routinely use procurement documents for Inventory, Receipts, Issues, and others as required by the Performance Work Statement. Examine stock to verify quantity or conformance to specifications as listed on the Packing Slip vs the Purchase Order Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education: AA or equivalent. One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required. Certifications/Licenses: N/A Experience: Minimum 3 years of direct experience in Government and commercial defense markets. Other Requirements: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance within 1 year if required. Desired Qualifications: Experience working in the DoD Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Experience with Supply Chain processes and related systems. Program and/or functional experience managing material. Experience with ITAR licenses, INCOTERMS, freight forwarders and couriers Comprehensive computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office programs. Additional skills include the following: briefing skills, project management, organizational skills, and communication skills. Maximo and IFS familiarity Skills & Technology Used: Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: Possesses both analytical and interpersonal skills. Good problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills/techniques. Business Partner/Effective Communicator: English language skills to communicate and negotiate with vendors. Strong communicator must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally. Ability to train, lead projects, direct employees. Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior, multi-task capability. Software: Microsoft Office Suite Excel Outlook SharePoint Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment. Working Conditions: The work is typically performed in an office environment and at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions.
