What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: The main objective of this position is to ensure all engineered materials are successfully requisitioned, tracked, cataloged and received such that field planning and execution activities are successful. This position will interface with Marathon Project management, their engineering firms, Marathon Construction, Supply chain and the Warehouse

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Requests Material master (MM) numbers and enters SAP requisitions on all project orders and works with MPC Buyer for on time PO issuance per project schedules.

Updates SAP work orders with latest bill of lading info to ensure each component is receivable prior to coming onsite. Ensures that SAP is updated with any appropriate expediting comments to help Construction have visibility of any special handling instructions. Any discrepancies (missing, misplaced, incorrect quantity) on project ordered material will be resolved by this position.

Spec check & verify Bill of Materials against material master numbers and ensure vendor quotes match. Utilize technical knowledge of refinery components (valves, pipe, etc) to ensure accuracy between the quote and SAP.

Monitor any moves in delivery dates of project orders and alert the MPC Buyer to update the SAP material delivery report.

Work with Warehouse & Engineering group to assist in disposition of surplus materials after project completion to either stock in warehouse or dispose of.

Coordinate with the engineering firm/site receiving to schedule large”10,000lbs+” laydown/warehouse deliveries.

Audits a portion of received orders to ensure storage location is accurate and up to date.

Attends all project material status calls to ensure they are up to date with all project material orders.

Other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: 5+ years’ experience in material management on capital projects.

SAP and Excel experience strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
