Position Overview:

As a Material Handler in Sub-assembly Light Rail, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high energy warehouse environment providing all material to production including rack, harness and pre-assembly for manufacturing the best rail vehicles in the world.


What your day may will look like:

Unload, receive, verify, and count materials delivered to the stockroom, ensuring accurate inventory. Sorting and kitting parts according to work orders. Work closely with group lead and Production Supervisor to support them to resolve assigned tasks. Work together with assemblers or other material handlers to perform special tasks. Pack and ship materials to vendors and external customers for repair or replacement and manage returns. Organize finished goods in sub-assembly and deliver to internal customers. Perform cycle counts and maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures for time-sensitive materials. Use small hand tools and operate equipment like forklifts, pallet handlers, and hand trucks safely. Be responsible for get production fixtures back to floor. Willing to learn driving the Combi is a plus. Maintain high standards of quality, contribute to a safe work environment, and participate in cross-training as needed. Keep material in safe condition.  Be prepared to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as required to meet business needs.Serve as the backup group lead during their absence.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

High school diploma or equivalent required.At least 1 year of warehouse or electrical assembler experience. Familiarity with parts and stock items is a plus.Good computer basis and skills.Good communication ability in English writing and speaking.Valid California driver’s license required.

Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.Frequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.Specific vision abilities needed: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Often require working in different groups based upon business needs. Sometimes require coordinating material among sub-assembly, final-assembly and warehouse.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions (heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid).Occasionally work in an elevated work environment and may be exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.

This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The base hourly rate for this position starts at $20.00 per hour plus 10% shift differential for 2nd shift and 20% shift differential for 3rd shift. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
