Material Coordinator (FMSC-2025-22083)
Bowhead seeks to hire a Material Coordinator who will help procure, receive, and distribute items ordered by the NSWCDD personnel. Attention to detail is a must. May load and unload materials; parts; or products manually or by mechanized means. This position requires some heavy physical activity; ability to climb ladders; and ability toreach elevated surfaces. Must be able to conduct liaison with vendors and government personnel alike to procure parts and services. Good communications skills are essential.
ResponsibilitiesThe Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies in accordance with production or department supervisors' priorities. In this job, the Material Coordinator reviews production schedules and confers with supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; arranges transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments, and examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified. The Material Coordinator may compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using adding machine; compile report of quantity and type of material on hand, move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck; may compile perpetual production records in order to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system, and maintain employee records. The Material Coordinator may also assist leadership with monthly inventory.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required and up to 2 years of experience. Data entry skills are mandatory. Previous inventory experience is a plus. May require some physical labor to move and relocate shipping containers/boxes. Previous experience in shipping and receiving is considered a plus. Must be able to quickly multi-task in a "supply-chain" like environment. Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
