Job DescriptionThe Material Cost-Out Project Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing direct material productivity (DMP) projects to improve the overall profitability of the Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions business. In this role, the Material Cost-Out Project Manager work closely with the Sourcing team Global and Regional Category Leaders, Product Management, Technology, Supply Chain and Finance teams to identify cost-out opportunities related to new product development, manufacturing process, material and/or product substitutions, and freight logistics to drive year over year profitability improvement.
Specifically, the Material Cost-Out Project Manager will:
Own overall responsibility for direct material cost-out performance in multiple water treatment and process treatment product lines within the Chemicals & Monitoring Solutions business.Work with Product Management, Technology, and Sourcing to align both short-term and long-term product development strategies with a cost-effective strategy for manufacturing, changing commercial product offerings with a focus on “speed to market”, and sourcing key raw materials through preferred suppliers.Conduct regular “make vs. buy” analyses of in-house production vs. third party manufacture to identify the most cost-effective supply strategy and work closely with both Sourcing and regional stakeholders to facilitate manufacturing/material supply shifts where needed.Conduct regular review meetings for specific projects or regional reviews with the various functional groups across all geographic regions, and assign specific tasks as needed to facilitate project completion.Perform financial calculations to measure both material cost-out project performance and Low Margin Account (LMA) actions on a quarterly basis and provide documented results in the Veolia Efficiency Plan system.Maintain ongoing dialog with the regional Sourcing teams on key supplier issues.QualificationsQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university or collegeExperience in industrial water treatment and/or refinery and chemical process industriesA minimum of 10 years of combined experience in either chemical sales/service, product management, technology, chemical supply chain, or chemical sourcing.Desired Characteristics:
