Material Handler

 

Summary

Responsible for: The unloading of inbound LTL freight, the loading of outbound LTL freight, and the unloading of all bulk raw materials (hazardous and non-hazardous).  All activities are to be done in a manner consistent with all LZAM and site safety rules and procedures.

 

Duties And Responsibilities Unload/load all freight in a manner consistent with established LZAM safety policies (proper PPE, truck/trailer entry, use of horns, seatbelt use, stacking requirements etc.). Meet and exceed all requirements for the Cardinal Rules. Drive the yard switcher and forklifts in a manner consistent with all established safety policies.

 

Receive and unload all inbound LTL shipments. Ensure that the receiving paperwork matches the purchase order paperwork, delivery date, quantity, product, and time.  Ensure all inbound shipments are QC Approved and taken to the proper dock/inventory location.  Receives data into SAP.

 

Load and ship all outbound LTL shipments.   Ensure that the samples are included, when appropriate, COA’s are attached, the package is clean and secure, and all special packaging requirements are met. Enter data into SAP on final shipment.

 

Understand basic emergency response responsibility and proper use of safety equipment.

 

Understand chemical hazard and demonstrate knowledge of that in proper unloading procedure.

 

Capable of pulling Bills of Lading.

 

Capable of preparing and shipping Bulk shipments. Able to operate and maintain the truck scales.  

 

Ensure that all paperwork is submitted daily.

 

Capable of unloading all incoming bulk shipments.  Working knowledge of instrumentation (level gauges, pressure transmitter, temperature gauges, venting system, etc) in the offloading of raw materials to storage tanks.  Able to calculate tank levels, volumes, and spare capacity.

 

General housekeeping at all dock and tanker loading/unloading areas.

 

Ensure that all LZAM and site safety rules and policies are always followed.
