**Job Title: Material Handler**
**Job Description**
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products in the warehouse. This position is a full-time role, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, for a duration of 6 weeks (With good performance, will go longer.)
**Responsibilities**
+ Process and prepare all receiving documents for materials from vendors, customers, and other company divisions.
+ Maintain material receipt slips, fill in weights, vendor and commodity information on receiving sheets, and sign for incoming materials received.
+ Coordinate all incoming material information with production departments.
+ Coordinate the shipment of outgoing goods, including the preparation and handling of proper documentation and shipment tracing.
+ Prepare bills of lading for outbound shipments and contact motor carriers for pick-up.
+ Assist in the consolidation of outbound shipments to customers.
+ Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe.
+ Assist in counting physical inventory.
+ Perform duties of the materials clerk position in both receiving and shipping areas as needed.
+ Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a materials clerk in both receiving and shipping areas.
+ Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
+ Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
+ Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
+ Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
+ Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 3 years prior shipping or receiving experience.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
+ Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
+ Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
+ Knowledge of Word Processing software.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to wear required protective equipment and devices.
+ Physical ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
+ Forklift certification (sit down).
+ Automotive or fabrication experience in a similar environment is a plus.
+ Ability to lift 100 lbs regularly.
+ Must pass a respirator fit test.
